LTM PBNU Launches National Program “Thank You Muezzin”

Viralterkini.id, Jakarta – The Ta’mir Mosque Institution for the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (LTM PBNU) officially launched a national program entitled “Thank you Muezzin”. This program is a form of LTM PBNU’s appreciation and concern for the muezzins of mosques and prayer rooms throughout Indonesia who have been faithful in maintaining the call to prayer and the continuity of Muslim congregational worship.

LTM PBNU emphasized that muezzins have a very important role in the life of the mosque. Not only is the muezzin responsible for announcing the call to prayer, he also maintains orderly prayer times, the rhythm of worship, and creates a calming spiritual atmosphere in the community.

In the midst of social changes and modern lifestyles, the role of the muezzin often goes unnoticed. In fact, the chanting of the call to prayer is a spiritual reminder as well as a symbol of the presence of Islam in public spaces. Therefore, LTM PBNU views muezzins as the main part of the mosque ecosystem which maintains continuity of worship across generations.

Three Categories of National Muezzin

Through the Thank You Muadzin program, LTM PBNU opens up national participation by presenting three main categories, namely Oldest Muezzin, Oldest Muezzin, and Youngest Muezzin. These three categories are designed to reach muezzins from various ages and regions throughout Indonesia.

This cross-generational approach is considered important to ensure the continuity of the role of muezzins, as well as encouraging the birth of a younger generation of muezzins without forgetting the services and examples of senior muezzins.

Coaching Based Appreciation

The Thank You Muezzin program is not merely a competition, but rather emphasizes the aspects of coaching and appreciation. As much 500 best muezzins will receive coaching money as a form of support for their service.

In addition, one selected participant will receive a main prize in the form of Umrah as Favorite Muezzin. This gift is interpreted as a symbol of respect for the muezzin’s dedication, istiqamah and service in maintaining the Islamic message. Through this program, LTM PBNU hopes to grow enthusiasm, pride and motivation in carrying out their mandate as a muezzin.

Schedule and Registration Mechanism

Registration and collection of participant files is open December 26, 2025 to January 5, 2026. The assessment process will take place on January 5–10, 2026with the announcement of the results on January 11, 2026.

The administrative requirements that participants must complete include:

• Resident Identity Card (KTP)
• Letter of recommendation from the local NU structure
• Certificate from the Mosque Prosperity Council (DKM)
• The best adhan videos are a maximum of one minute long

Strengthening the Role of Mosques

LTM PBNU hopes that the Thank You Muezzin program can strengthen the role of mosques as centers of worship, education and development of the people. LTM PBNU emphasized that the mosque will continue to live through people who dedicate themselves with complete sincerity.

Through this program, LTM PBNU wants to glorify the muezzin as the keeper of prayer times as well as the custodian of Islamic teachings. LTM PBNU also invites all mosque administrators, NU networks, and Nahdliyin residents to participate in disseminating information about this program so that it can reach muezzins in remote areas throughout Indonesia.
