Viralterkini.id, HALTENG – The Central Halmahera Regency Government through the Community and Village Empowerment Service (DPMD) officially supervised the selection stages for 110 prospective village head candidates on Monday (09/03/2026). This strategic step was taken as the main screening instrument to ensure that each candidate has adequate standards of intellectual capacity and integrity before participating in the simultaneous Village Head Election contestation.
Head of Central Halmahera PMD Service, Mustami Hi. Jamal, when contacted by this media, stated that this competency test was a regulatory mandate to screen prospective village leaders who were qualified and responsive to the needs of the residents.
According to him, the challenges of village government in the future are increasingly difficult, so a village head is needed who is not only electorally popular, but also administratively and technically intelligent.

Mustami emphasized that the assessment aspects in this competency test include managerial abilities, understanding village regulations, and the ability to solve social problems at the grassroots.
“We want to ensure that those who pass are figures who are truly ready to work and are able to manage Village Funds in a transparent and accountable manner for regional progress,” stressed Mustami on the sidelines of activity preparations.
The competency test is scheduled to take place tomorrow, Tuesday (10/3/2026), which will be centered at the DPMD Office of Central Halmahera Regency, Kilo 3 Area, Weda.
Mustami has high hopes that the selected candidates will be able to become catalysts for innovative development in their respective villages without abandoning local wisdom in order to maintain security stability in the Central Halmahera region.
Through this quality standardization, the Central Halmahera Regency Government hopes that the implementation of simultaneous village elections in 2026 will give birth to village transformers who are able to encourage local economic independence.
The results of this competency test will later become the basis for determining permanent candidates who have the right to advance to the voting stage, as well as providing a guarantee for residents of the quality of leadership in their respective villages. (Dano)
