PSSI Press Strongly Condemns Intimidation Against Journalists

Viralterkini.idJakarta – PSSI Press strongly condemns acts of intimidation against journalists who were carrying out their duties covering the match between Malut United and PSM Makassar at the Gelora Kie Raha Stadium, Saturday (7/3).

Through its official statement, PSSI Press emphasized that members of the press have an important role in the football ecosystem. Therefore, journalists must be able to carry out their journalistic duties freely, safely and without pressure from any party.

PSSI Press also emphasizes that journalistic work is protected by Law Number 40 of 1999 concerning the Press. Thus, all forms of intimidation, threats, or attempts to obstruct the work of journalists constitute acts that violate the law and can be prosecuted criminally.

PSSI Press asks all parties involved in football matches, including supporters, clubs and team officials, to respect the duties of journalists and maintain professionalism.

“This is important for the sake of creating a football climate that is healthy, open and respectful,” said PSSI Pers’ statement, quoted from the official PSSI Pers Instagram account.

This statement also serves as a reminder for all parties to maintain the safety and comfort of journalists when covering football matches in Indonesia.
