Persita Beats PSBS 2-1 at Indomilk Arena, Keeps Hope at the Top

Viralterkini.idTANGERANG – Persita Tangerang succeeded in securing three important points after beating PSBS Biak with a score of 2-1 in the 21st week of the BRI Super League 2025/2026. The match which was held at the Indomilk Arena Stadium, Monday (16/2/2026), was fierce with three goals in two rounds.

Persita appeared dominant from the early minutes. The team nicknamed the Cisadane Warriors controlled the game and created a number of golden opportunities. However, PSBS’ tight defense and goalkeeper Kadu’s solid performance meant the hosts failed to break the deadlock in the first half.

In fact, the visiting team was able to steal the lead first. PSBS, known as the Pacific Hurricane Warriors, surprised the host public with Ruyery Alfonso Blanco’s goal in the 45th minute. The goal started from a quick counter-attack scheme led by Ilham Udin, closing the first half with a 1-0 lead for PSBS.

Entering the second half, Persita increased the intensity of their attacks. The results were seen in the 69th minute when Rayco Rodrigue Medina successfully equalized. Only one minute later, A. Nur Hardianto turned things around to make it 2-1 in the 70th minute, ensuring victory for the hosts.

Persita’s coach, Coach Pena, admitted that PSBS is a dangerous opponent even though they are struggling to stay away from the relegation zone.

“PSBS Biak remains a dangerous team, they are fighting to escape relegation. They got some good results in away games,” said the Spanish coach.

He also highlighted the improvement in his team’s accuracy after failing to maximize opportunities in the last few matches.

“Yes, that’s true, we didn’t have accuracy in the last two matches. We had opportunities, but there wasn’t good accuracy. This week we trained specifically for the front line,” he continued.

The additional three points mean that Persita remains in sixth place in the standings with 35 points, matching the achievement of Persebaya Surabaya in fifth position, which this week lost 1-2 to Bhayangkara Presisi Lampung FC.

Meanwhile, the defeat means PSBS is stuck in 15th place with 17 points, only two points away from the relegation zone.

In the next match, Persita will play an away match against standings leaders Persib Bandung at the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium, Sunday (22/2). Meanwhile, PSBS will travel to Manahan Stadium to face Persis Solo the day before. (ma)
