US Aims to Control Iran’s Air, Conflict Predicted to Finish in 4-6 Weeks

“We are on track to achieve that goal. The government estimates the operational target can be achieved in about four to six weeks,” said Leavitt

White House Claims Military Operations Are Going According to Plan

Leavitt explained that the United States military carried out operations with several strategic targets. One of the main targets includes control of Iran’s airspace.

According to him, control of air space will strengthen the United States’ military position in the ongoing conflict.

Leavitt emphasized that President Donald Trump was monitoring the operation’s progress directly.

“The President acts as Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. When he assesses that Iran no longer poses a threat to the United States, the objectives of the operation are considered achieved,” said Leavitt.

He added that the government considered these conditions would put Iran in a position of unconditional surrender.

US Considers Iranian Leader Figure

Apart from military operations, the United States government is also discussing the possibility of changing leadership in Iran. Leavitt said United States intelligence agencies were assessing a number of figures who had the potential to lead the country.

However, he refused to name the figures included in the discussion.

“I know there are a number of figures that are being considered by our intelligence agencies and the United States government, but I won’t go into further detail on those,” Leavitt said.

Trump Touches on Iran’s Leadership Direction

President Donald Trump previously expressed his views on the future of Iran’s leadership. He conveyed this in an interview with Reuters on March 5.

Trump believes that the United States needs to be involved in determining the direction of Iran’s leadership after the conflict ends.

He also believes that candidates who have been considered strong will not necessarily lead Iran.

Trump alluded to the son of the late Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. He believes that this figure is unlikely to become the next leader.

Khamenei was reportedly killed in a military strike in the early stages of the conflict involving the United States and Israel.

Trump Affirms Demand for Unconditional Surrender

Trump also expressed a firm stance regarding resolving the conflict with Iran. He emphasized that the United States would not accept a deal without unconditional surrender.

Leavitt explained that the statement reflected the ultimate goal of United States military operations.

“When the President assesses that Iran no longer poses a threat and the objectives of Operation Epic Fury have been achieved, then that condition puts Iran in a position of unconditional surrender,” said Leavitt.
