Viralterkini.id, JAKARTA — The BRI Super League between Persija and Persib was canceled in Jakarta due to security considerations.
Initially, the match was scheduled to take place at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium on May 10 2026.
The league operator then decided to move the location of the match to Segiri Stadium, Samarinda, East Kalimantan with the same implementation time, namely Sunday, 10 May 2026.
The kick-off time remains according to schedule, namely 15.30 WITA.
I.League Director, Ferry Paulus, conveyed this decision after coordinating with security forces.
“The match was moved to Samarinda to keep the situation conducive,” Ferry told reporters, Tuesday (6/5/2026).
He explained that the decision was taken after considering the big agenda taking place in Jakarta during that period.
“The momentum of commemorating Labor Day and other activities are the main considerations for security forces,” he said.
Ferry added that the match could still be attended by spectators from home supporters.
“Home supporters are allowed to attend, but visiting team supporters are not permitted to come,” he stressed.
According to him, this policy follows the regulations that were implemented in the previous match.
The league hopes that moving the location can ensure the match runs safely and smoothly.
