Viralterkini.idJakarta — Persija Jakarta had to settle for sharing the points after being held to a draw by Borneo FC with a score of 2-2 in the 23rd week of the BRI Super League. The match which was held at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), Tuesday night (03/03) at 20.30 WIB, was fierce until the final minute.
Persija took the lead twice through goals from Gustavo Almeida in the 47th minute and Fabio Da Silva Calonego in the 75th minute. However, Borneo FC was able to equalize through Juan Felipe Villa Ruiz in the 62nd minute and Ikhsan Nul Zikrak’s dramatic goal in injury time (90′).

The match immediately started with high intensity from the start of the second half. Gustavo opened the hosts’ lead with a header that beat goalkeeper Nadeo Argawinata. However, this advantage did not last long after Juan Villa scored the equalizer and made the score 1-1.
The match was marked by hot tension and a number of tactical violations. The referee recorded nine yellow cards for both teams, reflecting the severity of the duel on the field.

Persija regained the lead in the 75th minute through Fabio Calonego’s action which made the JIS public roar. Kemayoran Tiger supporters’ optimism about getting three points has also strengthened. However, Borneo FC showed high fighting power until the final minute.
The visitors’ persistent pressure finally paid off when Ikhsan took advantage of the chaos in front of Andritany Ardhiyasa’s goal during injury time. The goal was an emotional moment, Ikhsan even received a yellow card in the process of celebrating.
This draw left disappointment for the home side who failed to secure victory despite leading twice. Persija coach, Mauricio Souza, admitted that this result was very painful.
“This is a very painful result for us because we took the lead twice but failed to win. However, this match also shows the character of the team. We have to learn from final moments like this and improve our discipline and focus until the final whistle,” said Mauricio.

Persija defender, Rizky Ridho, also expressed his disappointment.
“It’s very sad that we lost two points at home. Everyone is of course disappointed with this result. We have tried to get three points to get closer to the top flight according to our target, namely champions,” said Ridho.
He emphasized that his hopes of winning are not over yet with 10 matches remaining. “We will continue to fight in every match because the remaining 10 matches are final for us,” he added.
Regarding the consistency of the defense line, Ridho admitted that there was still homework to do. “We still rarely keep clean sheets because we concede goals, including in the last minutes and in the middle of matches. We have to be more focused and more concentrated because there may be individual mistakes that result in us conceding goals. In the future, we have to be better and carry out the coach’s instructions with discipline,” he said.
This result keeps Persija in second place in the standings with 51 points, while Borneo FC is in third place with 50 points. However, Borneo FC and Persib still have one match left that has the potential to change the map of top-flight competition. (ma)
