Viralterkini.idRiau – The continuation of the Pegadaian Championship pits host PSPS against Garudayaksa FC at the Kaharuddin Nasution Stadium, Saturday (28/2/2026) at 20.30 WIB. The match was fierce, but both teams had to settle for sharing the points after the match ended in a goalless draw.
Playing without the direct support of supporters in the stands, the duel continued at a high tempo. Even though a number of opportunities were created during the 2×45 minutes, none of them were able to be converted into goals until the final whistle sounded.
Garudayaksa FC coach, M. Ridwan, admitted that the match was tight from the start. He assessed that his team’s aggressiveness increased in the second half compared to the first half.
“The match was exciting and good. The aggressiveness in the second half was faster than the first half. As I have said, in the remainder of this competition there will be no easy matches. We came here to win the match and try to get three points,” said Ridwan after the match.

He also appreciated the mentality of his players who continued to fight until the end of the match. Even though the results did not meet expectations, Ridwan asked his team to remain grateful for the one point they achieved.
“I like the mentality of the players. They tried hard to get the three points. It was true that several players looked down after the match, but we still have to be grateful for this result. PSPS is a team with excellent ball playing ability and has quality players,” he added.
In line with the coach, Garudayaksa FC player, Arapenta, said that his team actually performed quite well. However, the final solution is homework that must be addressed immediately.
“As players, we feel we played well in this match. It’s just that the result was beyond expectations because we came to get three points. We are still grateful for this one point and we will improve it in training,” said Arapenta.
Regarding the team’s position which was under pressure after two away matches in Sumatra, Ridwan considered this to be an important evaluation. He highlighted the many opportunities created against the South Sumatra and PSPS teams, but they were not able to be maximized.
“In these two away matches, we actually created a lot of opportunities, but the final finishing was less than optimal. This is homework that we will improve so that the results in the future will be better,” he stressed.
In the Pegadaian Championship Group A standings, Garudayaksa FC remains firmly at the top with 38 points. Meanwhile, PSPS still remains in eighth place with 24 points.
Next, in the 22nd week, Garudayaksa FC is scheduled to host FC Bekasi City at Pakansari Stadium, Bogor Regency, Sunday (29/3/2026). This match was an opportunity for Garudayaksa to aim for victory again in front of his own supporters. (ma)
