APPI and I.League Take Solidarity Action with the Theme “Football Match for Sumatra”

Viralterkini.id, JAKARTA – The Indonesian Professional Footballers Association (APPI) together with the I.League will hold a charity activity entitled “Football Match for Sumatra” which is scheduled to take place on Friday, 19 December 2025 at the Madya Stadium, Senayan, Jakarta, with kick-off time at 15.30 WIB.

This activity is a form of solidarity from the Indonesian football family towards the people of Sumatra who were affected by the disaster.

This event is packaged in a fun football match format that brings together professional football players and national football figures, with a match duration of 2 x 30 minutes. Apart from the match, the series of activities will also continue with a jersey auction and a ceremonial handover of donations, all of the proceeds of which are intended for disaster victims in the Sumatra region.

APPI President, Andritany Ardhiyasa, emphasized the importance of togetherness of all football stakeholders.

“Football is about togetherness and caring. Collaboration between players, leagues and all stakeholders in this match is a real step to support each other, as well as build stronger synergy in the future,” explained Andritany.

Apart from being a humanitarian activity, “Football Match for Sumatra” is also part of the implementation between APPI and I.League regarding the Anti-Racism & Anti-Bullying campaign.

Through this activity, football players and stakeholders are expected to be able to provide real examples of the values ​​of tolerance, togetherness and solidarity, as a preventive effort to create a football environment that is inclusive and free from discrimination.

The Main Director of I.League, Ferry Paulus, also said that this activity was real proof of collaboration between the Indonesian football family.

“The football family must continue to work together and strengthen each other. Through this activity, we want to show that solidarity is not only expressed on social media, but is realized in real actions that have a direct impact on society,” explained Ferry.

APPI also hopes for support from all national football stakeholders so that this activity can run smoothly and have a real impact on the affected communities.

It is hoped that the “Football Match for Sumatra” will not only be a fundraising event, but also a symbol of unity and concern for the Indonesian football family.

All proceeds from ticket sales will also be channeled to help the people of Sumatra who are affected by the disaster, so that the presence of spectators will not only be moral support, but also a real contribution to this humanitarian action.
