Viralterkini.id, Timor Leste – Singer and pesinetron Abio Salsinha said he was proud to be a new citizen of Timor Leste. According to him, this small country in Southeast Asia has so much beauty that is not yet widely known by the world.
“I feel fortunate to be a part of Timor Leste. This country has extraordinary tourist attractions, culture, and crafts, but many people do not know,” Abio said when contacted.
Abio rate, although it still sounds foreign to most international tourists, Timor Leste holds extraordinary charm that is ready to make it one of the leading destinations of the region. “Starting from culture, history, nature, to culinary, all combined in authentic and unique harmony,” he added.
Diverse cultural wealth
Timor Leste has 13 districts with their respective cultural characteristics. This cultural heritage not only shows diversity, but also strengthens a sense of unity of society.
“Traditional music such as Tebe-Tebe becomes a pulse of social life, while Tais-a different customary weaving in each district-becomes an amazing symbol of identity as well as a work of art. This is a clear evidence of how local culture remains sustainable in the midst of modernization,” said Abio.
Cooler natural charm
For nature lovers, Timor Leste also offers a charming panorama. Mount Ramelau as the highest peak of this country is often nicknamed “Timor Leste Roof”, while Mount Kablaki and Mount Matabian became a popular climbing destination.
The cool air of the mountains makes many tourists nickname Timor Leste as “second Europe” in Southeast Asia. In addition to mountains, natural waterfalls and exotic beaches with clear sea water helped enrich the beauty of this country.
Typical Historical and Culinary Traces
Abio also highlighted the historical side of Timor Leste. “The long history of this country can be seen from historical sites. In Viqueque, for example, there are traces of the arrival of Catholic missionaries hundreds of years ago. Portuguese and Japanese relics can still be found through the ancient museums and fortresses that stand firmly,” he explained.
For culinary matters, Timor Leste serves traditional dishes made from corn, cassava, taro, and sweet potatoes. It feels simple, but familiar to the tongue of Asian tourists.
Towards the future of tourism
The Timor Leste government is now aggressively developing the tourism sector, including improving infrastructure and access roads to leading destinations. By making culture the main foundation, this country is optimistic that it can attract more tourists in the future.
“Timor Leste is not just a tourist destination, but a touching experience, enriching insight, and arousing a sense of admiration for the beauty that is still original,” concluded Abio. (rby)
