Honda Racing Indonesia Prepares a New History in Mandalika Circuit – Indonesia’s Latest Viral

VIRALTERKINI.ID, LOMBOK-The prestigious racing event that has been awaited by racing enthusiasts throughout Indonesia, Mandalika Festival of Speed (MFOS) round 1 and 2 will be held at the Mandalika International Circuit, Saturday-Sunday, July 19-20, 2025 later.

All racers have landed in Mandalika and prepared themselves carefully ahead of the event this weekend. No exception the Honda Racing Indonesia team who came with pride as the defending champion team with three of its drivers: Alvin Bahar, Avila Bahar and Andri Abirezky.

The first race in 2025 will be a special moment for Honda Racing Indonesia. In addition to fulfilling the 40th year of Honda Racing’s work at Motorsport Indonesia while adding to the collection of circuits that had been the history of its participation.

Starting at the Ancol Circuit in 1976, then once in various circuits in Malaysia to Macau in the 80s. At that time Malaysia had 2 circuits namely Shah Alam Batu Tiga and Johor Sand Warehouse Circuit.

In 1992 it was the end of the car racing holding at the Ancol circuit as well as indicating the vacuum of Honda Racing in Indonesia until it came back in 2002 at the Sentul Circuit until now.

The return of Honda Racing Indonesia has also crossed several circuits that have existed in Indonesia. Because in addition to the Sentul Circuit, the National Racing Championship has also been held in several other places.

In 2009 as many as 2 series were held at Lippo Karawaci Street Circuit and in 2017 to 2019 the National Championship was also held in Tangerang with the title BSD Grand Prix Championship.

Especially for this 2025, the absence of the Sentul Circuit in the National Racing Championship in the context of repairing for the extension of the International Circuit license made 6 Rounds of Car Racing Championship held at the Mandalika Circuit.

Surely this is a challenge for all teams and racers, especially for Honda Racing Indonesia in order to maintain 3 titles won by the three racers last season.

The difference between circuits is not only different ways to maneuver but also how to maximize the potential of vehicles on different racing tracks.

Not only different layouts that also change the braking and cornering style due to different bends, but also the striking differences from the environment and weather. If all this time the National Championship is located at the Sentul Circuit is close to the mountains, while Mandalika is located on the beach.

Hri Trio Most Ready

The Honda Racing team that had arrived in Lombok a week before the race had made preparations, adaptations and training for 3 days. The results of the exercise are also in line with expectations even though it must begin with a long adaptation.

“Getting quite encouraging training results, we are ready to perform optimally at the Mandalika car racing championship this weekend. Good me, Avila Bahar or Andri Abirezky, we are ready in their respective classes,” explained Alvin Bahar, senior racer who is also the Director of Honda Racing Indonesia.

The three racers will go down in three different National Championship classes, Alvin Bahar will play in the ITCR 3600 class with a Honda Civic Type R race, Avila Bahar will appear in the ITCR 1500 National Championship class with Honda City Hatchback and also perform with Andri Abirezky with Honda Brio in the Brio 1200 class.
