Erick Thohir Praise the role of Prabowo behind the success of the Football event July 2025 – Indonesia’s latest viral

Viralterkini.id, Jakarta – Chairperson of the All Indonesia Football Association (PSSI), Erick Thohir, expressed high appreciation to the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, who also served as the PSSI Honorary Council.

Erick said that President Prabowo’s support was an important factor behind the success of various major national football agendas held throughout July 2025.

In his statement in Jakarta, Friday (7/18/2025), Erick called Juli as a month full of football atmosphere, which not only presented prestigious competition, but also became a collective moment of national pride.

At least three major events took place this month, namely the 2025 Presidential Cup, the Women’s AFC Qualification Tournament, and the ASEAN U-23 Cup.

“Pak Prabowo has become an important part of our soccer transformation. His support as president and the PSSI Honorary Council is so real, especially in ensuring that each event goes smoothly and provides maximum benefits for the community,” said Erick Thohir.

Erick stressed that the series of tournaments held was not solely in sports activities, but also a form of the spirit of togetherness, people’s entertainment, and a reflection of new optimism in the world of national sports.

According to him, high public enthusiasm for these matches shows that football has great social power.

“July is the month of Indonesian football. This is not only about the match, but about the spirit, optimism, and togetherness,” said Erick.

He added that these various events could not be successful without the active role of the central government, especially the direct attention of President Prabowo to various technical and strategic aspects in organizing competition.

As Chairperson of PSSI, Erick said that the federation continues to commit to maintaining the momentum of the rise of national football by running a healthy, tiered competition, and facilitating more public involvement.

According to Erick, football has now become more than just a spectacle, but has been transformed into the social glue of the nation and an effective cultural diplomacy tool.

“In the midst of the dynamics of life, football gives hope, entertainment and positive energy for millions of Indonesian people,” he said.

Erick also appreciated the high enthusiasm of the players, coaches and team officials involved in various events throughout July.

He mentioned the active participation of all parties, including Asprov, clubs and supporters, as proof that Indonesian football has a strong foundation to continue to grow.

The successful implementation of the 2025 Presidential Cup is considered an important momentum, where the pre-season competition is able to present the quality of competitive matches as well as a warm-up event for the clubs participating in the professional league.

Meanwhile, at the international level, the success of Indonesia to host the AFC women’s qualification tournament and the ASEAN U-23 Cup shows the increasing confidence of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) on the ability of Indonesian soccer organizations.

“This support is very meaningful for us and all national football lovers. We will continue to maintain this trust and encourage Indonesian football to move forward professionally and transparently,” concluded Erick.

With consistent government support and high community participation, Erick believes that Indonesian football will be able to penetrate regional boundaries and go further on the international arena.
