Xpeng Ready to Produce Electric Cars in Purwakarta July 2025 – Indonesia’s latest viral

Viralterkini.id, Jakarta – Chinese electric car manufacturer, Xpeng, announced that he would start a local assembly in Indonesia in July 2025. This became their first production base outside of China, precisely at the PT Handal Indonesia Motor (HIM) factory, Purwakarta, West Java.

According to James Wu, Vice President of Xpeng, Indonesia as the largest automotive market in Southeast Asia is the “perfect house” to expand their operations. This decision was also strengthened through partnerships with local distributors, Erajaya Active Lifestyle (Eral), which has introduced two excellent Xpeng models since February: X9 (MPV 7? Passengers) and G6 (SUV 5? Passengers).

* Xpeng X9: MPV seven passengers, the price is around Rp? 990 million – 1.1 billion. The distance is up to 720? Once the contents are full.

CKD (Completely Knocked Down) production in Purwakarta allows Xpeng to cut import costs, accelerate distribution, and emphasize its commitment to the Indonesian automotive industry. Erajaya also plans to open six inaugural dealers in a number of major cities complete with sales facilities, spare parts, and after -sales.

In addition to expanding the industrial network, Xpeng is also exploring the use of local nickel batteries as part of the product localization strategy. The Indonesian government is targeting 2 million EV and 30,000 public filling stations in 2030, so that the presence of Xpeng can accelerate the achievement of this target. (ma)
