It is not the splendor of government buildings that is in the spotlight, but the establishment of 2,412 Livable Housing (RLH) units which are now a symbol of the revival of the dignity of ordinary citizens.

From 2023 to the end of 2025, under the leadership of Ikram Malan Sangadji (IMS) who served as Acting Regent in 2023 and was elected as Regent of Central Halmahera in 2024, this decent housing development program has been consistently realized. The political promises that were echoed have turned into real evidence that is now being felt directly in people’s living rooms.

The peak of the RLH handover took place again in an atmosphere full of emotion in Woyobibil Preparation Village and Santosa Village, North Patani District. At this momentum, the Regent of IMS was present along with Deputy Regent Ahlan Djumadil and Regional Secretary Bahri Sudirman, forming a “Tiga Serangkai” formation which directly supervised the humanitarian program.

The presence of this regional leader carries a big mission, namely ensuring that prosperity does not just stop at the district center, but actually reaches the front porch of the village community.

Behind the success of this program worth IDR 262.39 billion, the secret of cross-sector collaboration without ego is hidden. Head of the Central Halmahera Regional Border Management Agency (BPPD), Faujon Halek, emphasized that the successful construction of thousands of RLHs was the result of the colossal work of various regional officials.

“The Regent instructed BPPD, the Agriculture and Agriculture Service and the PMD Service to merge into one vision. We are ‘ganging up’ on this development together for one goal, namely houses for the people,” he said.

The impact of this program was felt directly in the community. An emotional atmosphere colored the handing over of the house keys to Dalyaya Maulur (77), a resident of Woyobibil Preparation Village. The elderly grandmother could not hold back her tears as she held the IMS Regent’s hand.

“In my entire life, this is the first time I feel truly cared for. Now I no longer have to worry when it rains. This is not just a home, but life for me,” said Dalyaya in a trembling voice.

Basir Masdar (35), a resident of Santosa Village, expressed similar gratitude. As the head of a young family, he considers a livable house to be an important foundation for his family’s future.

“This house means a lot to us. Thank you because justice has really been brought to the village,” he said.

For Ikram Malan Sangadji, a house is not just a physical building. According to him, decent housing is the starting point for sustainable human development.

“We are not building stones and cement, but building the civilization of Central Halmahera. The house is the first fortress for health and education. Since 2023, we are determined that the regional budget must become a dignified residence for the people,” stressed IMS in his speech which was greeted with applause from the residents.

The inauguration of thousands of RLHs is clear proof that harmonious leadership between the Regent, Deputy Regent and Regional Secretary is able to penetrate the limits of the impossible.
