Trisakti University Law Students Join a Public Lecture at Mako Police Wildlife – the Latest Indonesian Viral

Viralterkini.id, Depok – The Faculty of Law of the University of Trisakti through the Department of Forestry Law held a Public Lecture entitled “The Role of Community and Animal Police to Realize the Balance of Biological Natural Resources and Its Ecosystems.” This event took place at the Auditorium of the Knowledge Animal Center transfer Center Directorate of Police Korsabhara Baharkam Polri, Kelapadua, Depok.

This public lecture presents Brigadier General Tory Kristianto, SIK, as the Director of the Police Korsabhara Baharkam Police, as the main speaker. This activity was attended by hundreds of students of the Trisakti University Faculty of Law, lecturers, and practitioners in the field of environmental and forestry law.

In his remarks, Brigadier General Tory Kristianto stressed the importance of synergy between the community, academics, and law enforcement officials in efforts to conserve Indonesia’s biological natural resources.

“Indonesia has an extraordinary biodiversity wealth, but also faces serious threats such as wild hunting and habitat damage. The animal police are not only to enforce the law, but also become a motor of education and public awareness of the importance of animal protection and habitat,” said Brigadier General Tory Kristianto.

He explained the various strategic roles of animal police in handling conservation issues, including eradicating illegal wildlife trade, saving abandoned or threatened animals, and community-based education activities in various regions.

This public lecture activity was opened by Dr. Intan Nevia Cahyana, SH, MH, Lecturer in Forestry Law Course. In his remarks, he emphasized the urgency of this activity in providing direct experience to students related to the dynamics of law enforcement in the forestry and environmental fields.

“Through this public lecture, students not only get theory in the classroom, but also see firsthand how the law is implemented in the field. This is part of the contextual curriculum that aims to produce law graduates who care about environmental issues and are able to think solutively in practice,” said Dr. Diamond.

Increasing the weight of the event, also present AKBP Gede Pasek, SIK, as Deputy Director of the Metro Jaya Regional Police Binmas, who explained the main tasks and functions of Bhabinkamtibmas in supporting environmental security-based community programs, including the superior program of the Police Community initiated by the PMJ Binmas.

“Bhabinkamtibmas is the spearhead of the National Police in the community. In the context of conservation and environmental protection, Bhabinkamtibmas acts as a facilitator of dialogue between citizens and authorities, building collective awareness, and encouraging the formation of an environmental caring community as we ideas in the police community,” explained AKBP Gede Pasek.

The Police Community Program itself is a community -based strategic approach aimed at strengthening the participation of citizens in creating a safe, orderly, and sustainable environment, including in the issue of nature preservation.

As a facilitator in this public lecture, Monica Fany Megawati as the Chairperson of the Korsabhara Baharkam Polri Police observer also gave an important perspective on the role of the younger generation in conservation.

“The involvement of law students in this activity is very strategic. They are not only prospective law enforcers, but also prospective leaders of change. By directly understanding the role of animal police, we hope to grow a stronger spirit of environmental advocacy and have a broad impact in the community,” Monica said.

In addition to material exposure, this public lecture is also filled with interactive discussion sessions. Students look enthusiastic in direct dialogue with speakers, discussing the challenges of legal in the preservation of animals and forestry in Indonesia, as well as discussing collaborative strategies between officials and the community in efforts to enforce effective environmental law.

This activity is a tangible part of the commitment of Trisakti University in developing adaptive and contextual legal education, which is able to respond to the challenges of the times, especially in maintaining environmental sustainability in the midst of the complexity of national and global law.
