Ferry also said that League 1 next season plans to add a quota of foreign players, from this season who can register a maximum of eight players with six players who play, to 11 players may be registered by playing eight players in one match.

“For next season, 11 foreign players registered, who play eight. Surely PSSI will make a decision later,” Ferry said.

“Later, 2026/2027, 11 players are free to play and be registered. I have not been able to give a definite answer, but it seems that this cannot be fulfilled, but is it that eight are registered with eight playing, or 11 are registered eight players, we don’t know yet,” Ferry added about the regulatory plan for foreign players in the following season.

When asked the reason, the 60-year-old man explained that clubs in Indonesia could compete in Asian level competition.

This answer, added Ferry, also dismissed the notion that so far the price of many local players is expensive compared to foreign players.

“If the League 1 was indeed an initial idea because it was because we wanted to compete in Asia, so it was not because the price of local players was expensive and so on,” he explained.

“Starting this season, in Asia is free (quota of foreign players). Departing from that, so we made the proposal for the next three years. At least the end of May there has been a decision,” he continued.

As for this season, Persib Bandung has been confirmed to be the champion after their points are not overtaken by the teams below with the remaining two matches.
