Viralterkini.id, Jakarta -The Indonesia Pro-Am International Golf Tournament Presented by Combiphar & Nomura will be held again on 10-12 September 2025 at Mount Geulis Country Club, Bogor.
The event that entered its third year became the largest and first pro-am tournament in Indonesia and was recorded in the official calendar of the Asian Development Tour (ADT).
This tournament is competing two categories: individual professional and team (pro-am). The total prizes provided reached USD 150,000 or around Rp2.4 billion, consisting of USD 125,000 (Rp2 billion) for the individual category and USD 25,000 (Rp400 million) for the Pro-AM category.
This format brings together professional and amateur golfers in a competition that is designed to hone skills while expanding the participants’ experiences.
Since it was first held in 2023, The Indonesia Pro-AM has scored talented champions, such as Kevin C. Akbar from Indonesia (2023) and Tanah Pichaikool from Thailand (2024).
This tournament is a strategic stage for national golfers to show their capacity at the international level.
The two main sponsors of the tournament, Combiphar and Nomura, again showed a long -term commitment to the development of golf in Asia, especially Indonesia.
Michael Wanandi, President Director of the Combiphar Group, emphasized that the company’s participation was in line with the health mission carried, “Championing a Healthy Tomorrow.”
He called Kevin Akbar’s success as a tangible manifestation of this commitment.
“Since supporting ADT in Indonesia in 2016, Combiphar has continued to encourage the birth of national outstanding athletes. The success of Kevin in 2023 is a real inspiration for young Indonesian golfers to continue to consistently develop their potential,” Michael said at a press conference held in Jakarta, Wednesday (24/7/2025).
A similar support was delivered by Yohei Akasaki, Managing Director of International Wealth Management Nomura Singapore Limited.
Nomura has been involved in ADT since 2019 and made golf as part of their social responsibility program.
“We want to continue to be part of the growth of golf sports in Asia, especially in Indonesia. Indonesia Pro-AM is a strategic platform to help Asian golfers penetrate higher professional levels,” Yohei explained.
Mount Geulis Country Club is again trusted to be the host for the third time.
This 36 Hole field consists of West Course and East Course, which presents different challenges for each participant.
Agung Budiman, President Director of Gunung Geulis Country Club, said that this tournament offers a unique experience for golfers.
“Every year, we are committed to presenting challenges and memorable competition atmosphere. Playing in two fields with different characters in one tournament makes The Indonesia Pro-AM very special compared to other ADT events,” he said.
A total of 100 professional golfers and 100 amateurs will compete in the two course of Mount Geulis in the first two rounds.
After completing 36 holes, the cut-off system will be applied. Golfers with the best score of the Top 50 Plus Tie in the individual category will proceed to the final round.
Meanwhile, in the team category (pro-am), the 20 best teams will qualify for the finals, and prizes will be given to the top 10 teams.
For Indonesian golfers, this tournament provides a great opportunity to score achievements in the public itself.
One of the national mainstays, Peter Gunawan, expressed optimism in facing the Indonesia Pro-AM 2025.
“Playing at home gives me extra motivation. I am very waiting for this competition to perform optimally and achieve the best results,” Peter said.
A positive impression also came from the amateur golfer Andree Harahap, a 2024 pro-am category champion.
He is paired with Malaysian Golf Galven Green and won the team champion.
“Last year’s experience was extraordinary. Participating with Galven Green for three rounds made me learn a lot. The victory was an unforgettable moment on my golf,” Andree recalled.
The pro-am competition format has long been part of the international golf tradition. Events such as New Zealand Open (Asian Tour), AT & T Pebble Beach Pro-Am (PGA Tour), and Alfred Dunhill Links Championship (DP World Tour) show how collaboration between professional and amateur golfers is able to build a healthy and competitive golf ecosystem.
With the sustainability of the organization of Indonesia Pro-AM until the third year, Indonesia has further strengthened its position on the Asian and World Golf Map.
This tournament is not only a prestigious event, but also a symbol of collaboration for the progress of sports and healthy lifestyles in the country.
