Viralterkini, idJAKARTA – The Indonesian Women’s National Volleyball Team is certain to be ready to take part in a series of international matches in South Korea, Vietnam and Thailand. Chairman of the Central Management of the Indonesian Volleyball Association (PP PBVSI), Imam Sudjarwo, said that the team’s preparations had reached 100 percent.
The Indonesian Women’s National Volleyball Team will first go to South Korea to take part in a trial match against that country’s senior national team. In the invitational agenda, Indonesia is scheduled to play three matches.
“The match in South Korea is a test to see the extent of our national team’s abilities,” said Imam when sending off the departure of the Indonesian Women’s National Volleyball Team.
After completing the agenda in South Korea, the Red and White squad will continue their trip to Vietnam and Thailand to take part in the South East Asia Volleyball League or SEA V.League.
According to Imam, the players have had quite thorough preparation. Previously, the Indonesian Women’s National Volleyball Team appeared in the AVC Cup, then returned to training camp in Sentul.
“Essentially, the team is ready to compete in two events in three countries. The hope is that they can play better than in the previous tournament and get better results,” he said.
PBVSI Targets Runner-up Position
PBVSI has set a runner-up target for the Indonesian Women’s National Volleyball Team in the SEA V.League. This target is set based on the strength map of the participating countries and the development of the team’s play during the AVC Cup and training camp.
Imam believes that Thailand is still the strongest opponent because it has a number of players who have competed in the Volleyball Nations League or VNL. However, Indonesia is considered to have the opportunity to compete with Vietnam and the Philippines.
“We have to be realistic. Thailand has players who have played in the VNL. However, if God gives us the opportunity, who knows, we can also win. Our target is to beat Vietnam and the Philippines so we dare to set a runner-up target,” he explained.
This optimism is also supported by the players’ performance in the AVC Cup. Imam assessed that the Indonesian Women’s National Volleyball Team showed good play and experienced progress after returning to training.
Apart from technical ability, solidarity between players is one of the team’s main assets. The senior and junior players are said to have united without any distance within the team.
“The chemistry of the Women’s National Team is extraordinary. Their togetherness is very good. No one feels greater, both senior and junior players. The team is united,” said Imam at the release of the 2026 Jecheon Women’s National Volleyball Team at the Kunarto Police General Volleyball Center, Sentul Bogor, Sunday (19/07/2026).
He also appreciated the performance of the coaching team led by Alim Suseno with Pedro Lilipaly and other coaches in building a solid team.
Player Conditions Continue to be Evaluated
Facing a busy match schedule, PBVSI together with the coaching team have prepared a training and recovery program so that player performance is maintained.
In between training camps, the players are also given rest time. The coaching team periodically carries out evaluations to determine which players will be retained and which players need to be given recovery time.
“Apart from training, of course there is rest and evaluation time. The coaching team will see which athletes will be retained and which athletes need to be rested temporarily,” he said.
According to Imam, the coaching team has understood the right formula to maintain the physical and mental condition of players so that they do not experience fatigue or boredom.
After completing matches in South Korea, Vietnam and Thailand, the Indonesian Women’s National Volleyball Team will return to Sentul to prepare for the AVC Continental. Furthermore, the team will also be directed to face the Asian Games with the target of improving Indonesia’s ranking.
Imam asked for support and prayers from the community so that the players can give their best performance.
“We ask for blessings from all Indonesian people. Hopefully the players who are heroes of Indonesian volleyball will be able to play the best game for the community, nation and state,” he said.
South Korea has the opportunity to play matches in Indonesia
Imam also revealed the possibility of the South Korean team having a friendly match in Indonesia. South Korean representatives have come to inspect the location and hold meetings with PBVSI.
However, until now there is no certainty regarding the timing of the match.
“They have come to Indonesia, seen the place, communicated and had meetings with me. However, they have not confirmed when they will come,” he said.
PBVSI hopes that this match can be held after the AVC Continental or Asian Games series is finished.
Jakarta Hosts Men’s SEA V.League
Apart from preparations for the Women’s National Volleyball Team, PBVSI is also preparing for the second round of the Men’s SEA V.League in Jakarta. The match will take place at the Jakarta International Velodrome on 22–26.
Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Yulfa, said that his party would prepare the match as well as possible after gaining the trust of PP PBVSI as the host.
“We hope that the people of Jakarta and Indonesia can attend directly at the Velodrome to watch and support our proud national team,” said Yulfa.
Match tickets have been sold through the Goers platform in three categories. Regular tickets are sold for IDR 100,000, VIP IDR 200,000, and VVIP IDR 500,000.
Apart from online sales, the public can also buy tickets directly at the match location.
Yulfa said the committee had anticipated high public interest after the Indonesian Men’s National Volleyball Team recorded achievements at the Asian level.
The spectator capacity at the Velodrome is also planned to be larger than the previous implementation. If previously the total number of spectators reached around 12,000 people, this time the committee is targeting more than 15,000 spectators to attend.
“We see that there is still space on the left and right sides of the Velodrome. Therefore, we will increase the capacity. We hope that more than 15,000 spectators can attend to provide support to the Indonesian National Team,” concluded Yulfa. (ma)
