The annual agenda of geothermal soccer Indonesia supports the development of green energy

VIRALTERKINI.ID, JAKARTA-The grand event of the Indonesia International Geothermal Convention and Exhibition (IIIGCE 2025) was held on 17-19 September 2025 at JCC Senayan, Jakarta. This annual event is an international event between all stakeholders in the geothermal field globally.

This event aims to exchange information and renewal of geothermal development from all over the world. Keep in mind that geothermal is one of the largest and most environmentally friendly green energy that can be relied upon to be an electric power baseload for the community.

The event which was attended by around 34 countries presented approximately 60 exhibitors/exhibition booths. There is something unique in the 2005 IIIGCE event, of all the booths that exist, tucked a small booth but attracts the attention of visitors and makes me curious, namely the Geothermal Soccer Indonesia.

The booth, designed with a red and white style, not only displays information about football, but also campaigns how lucky the Indonesian people have the second largest geothermal natural resource in the world! GSI displays interesting information such as the distribution of geothermal development maps that contain information about projects that have been running or that have not been running and projects that require support from various parties.

In addition there are also videos of geothermal development that are safe and environmentally friendly and have a positive impact on the community.

On this occasion, the Chairperson of GSI, Carson Hakama said that the development of geothermal must be supported by all levels of interest because it brings positive effects on the environment, improving the welfare of the community around the PLTP and increasing regional and central income which will later be used for the development of community welfare.

In order to support this, he conveyed that there were challenges, one of which was social issues, and he hoped that through GSI it could be a forum that could contribute to reduce the issue, one of which was through digital education or going directly to the field with the method of “Green Green Fields”.

This method will later be in the form of development assistance/improvement of football infrastructure in the community around the PLTP and Coaching Clinic to find the talents of young players around the PLTP to be schooled to the national level.

“So far, many of the best coffee seeds are present from the geothermal region, then why not to bring up the seeds of young players to the national level of the community development program in the PLTP region,” said Mr. Yohannes as Deputy Chairman of GSI.

However, he also said that to realize this certainly requires support from all stakeholders, both from the government and business entities in the geothermal field. Therefore, he expressed his hopes for stakeholders to help this program so that the commitment to collaborate on handling social issues can be carried out and geothermal development goes according to expectations.
