VIRALTERKINI.ID, JAKARTA – Basketball tournament 3 × 3 national scale, Mandiri 3 × 3 Indonesia Tournament held by PT Supersport Sensation (SSS) International, in collaboration with the Perbasi DPP, and fully supported by PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk as the main partner entered its fourth year in 2025.
This event is a place for competition that consistently gave birth to talented young talents, many of which are now part of the 3 × 3 Indonesian national team in various international events.
This championship is unique in the year, in 2025 there is an additional catergori new age namely KU-15 and KU-12 Mix. Indonesia’s 3 × 3 tournament was first held in 2022 has become a place to show off national young talent.
Some of its alumni are now strengthening the 3 × 3 national team including Evelyn Fiyo, Angelica Jennifer Chandra, Christine Aldora Djundawan, Natasya Amelia Putri, and Tasya Heru Saputra. Fiyo and Natasya even appeared in the prestigious FIBA 3 × 3 Women’s Series Jakarta 2025 event.
While in the men’s sector, the name Jonathan Patrick Alex also represented Indonesia in the international arena.
SSS International Director Azwan Karim said a number of tournament alumni also managed to penetrate professional clubs at the Indonesia Basketball League (IBL).
Among them are Arlan Bryan Jason (Prawira), Junior Ibrahim (Dewa United), and Kevin and Brian (Satya Wacana). Not a few are now the mainstay of their respective regions in the National Sports Week (PON).
“Since rolling in 2022, each tournament edition was attended by more than 2,000 3 × 3 athletes from various parts of Indonesia,” Azwan said in a press conference in the Sarinah area, Monday (4/8/2025).
As the implementation develops, the event titled Mandiri 3 × 3 Indonesia Tournament adds to the competed age category. From the beginning only KU-18 and KU-23, now included KU-15 and KU-12 MIX.
This year, the organization of the tournament was divided into three main zones, namely: the Sumatra zone which began in Medan on August 23, 2025 for the play-in round, followed by the regional final on August 24.
The NTB and Bali zone for the first time was held, took place on September 6 (Play-in in Lombok and Bali). Then the regional final round took place September 13 in Lombok.
Zone of Java Island with four Play-in locations: Yogyakarta (September 20), Surabaya (September 27), Jabodetabek (October 4), and Bandung (5 October). The final was held in Jakarta on October 11, 2025.
The total prizes contested this year reached more than Rp. 200 million. The registration fee of Rp1 million per team, increased from previous years, in line with improving the quality of the event packaging and the competition system.
“The play-in format is no longer a knockout system, but a group system, so that each team will play at least three times. This is expected to provide more optimal competitive experience,” Azwan continued.
Chairman of the 3 × 3 PP Perbasi Anthony Gunawan admitted that he really needed grassroot which from this event would be a Perbasi player in the future.
“Indeed, it is unique in 3 × 3, each of these peaks has an individual ranking so it is similar to badminton, where this rank can pass them to the Asian level or zone, the world championship, or the Olympics,” Anthony said.
“So from Perbasi, I am very grateful too and I might have a lot more discussion in the future to walk in harmony and a clear goal that Indonesia will potentially be at 3 × 3,” he said
In addition there is a statement of Bank Mandiri’s Corporate Secretary, M. Ashidiq Iswara who stated that we believe in the progress of national sports needs to be supported by consistent and competitive tiered guidance. Mandiri 3 × 3 Indonesia Tournament is a tangible manifestation of Bank Mandiri’s commitment in supporting the development of young Indonesian athletes in order to compete at the international level.
The tournament also continues to apply FIBA official competition standards, including the use of event maker devices that allow players to get FIBA ranking. Registration has been opened since July 2025, with a maximum quota of 12 teams per category to maintain the quality of the competition. (ma)
