VIRALTERKINI.ID, JAKARTA – The first Geothermal Soccer Championship (GSC) 2025 event initiated by the Indonesian Soccer Geothermal Team (GSI) which collaborated with on US Asia was successfully held and officially closed on Sunday afternoon (31/8) at ASIOP Stadium, Jakarta.

This tournament presents a spirit of togetherness between geothermal stakeholders through football, as well as a means of important socialization for the development of clean energy in Indonesia.

The competition, which began on August 30, 2025, was officially opened by representatives of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora), the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Chairman of the IIIGCE, and Chair of the Indonesian Geothermal Association (API). From beginning to end, the atmosphere of the stadium was filled with enthusiasm of the audience, supporters, to players from 28 company teams and institutions who participated.

The peak of the tournament presents the final match that brought together IKPT and Apexindo. The match was tight in the first half with a score of glasses, but entering the second half, IKPT managed to open the scoring through a quick attack. The goal was the lighter of the team’s spirit, which finally added three additional goals to close the match with a score of 4-0. This victory named IKPT as the first winner of the 2025 Geothermal Soccer Championship. Apexindo had to settle for second place, while the third place was successfully secured by PT Duta Hita Jaya after beating PT Pratama Galuh Perkasa.

The handover of the trophy was carried out directly by the Chair of the API, Julfi Hadi, who in his remarks gave a high appreciation for the implementation of this inaugural tournament. He also congratulated the winners, as well as expressing the hope that this activity could be a routine agenda. According to him, future development can be done by presenting a more diverse age category, so that competition is not only lively but also plays a role in giving birth to young talents around the geothermal work area.

In line with that, the Chairman of the Geothermal Soccer Indoensia (GSI), Carson Hakama, also expressed his gratitude to all parties who have supported, including the geothermal association, sponsors, and the participants. He asserted that GSI is committed to continuing to expand cooperation with Kemenpora, PSSI, and Geothermal Stakeholders in developing sustainable soccer events and the search and fostering talented young players.

Not only presenting the main competition, the tournament was also enlivened by entertainment matches that brought together the geothermal all of the All Star against the Media All Star, the University of Trisakti facing the Jakarta Drilling Society, and the Government All Star faced with the All Star Geothermal Association. The exhibition matches are the main attraction, especially with the presence of three national soccer legends, namely Ilham Jayakesuma, Markus Harison, and Robbi Darwis, who participated in the field.

The excitement of the tournament is more complete with a number of special awards. PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy has been named the Fairplay team, while the best supporters fall to PT Geo Dipa Energi. The title of the best player as well as top scorer was successfully won by a player with a back number 15 from PT Duta Hita Jaya, while the title of the best goalkeeper was given to IKPT. Meanwhile, a spectacular moment was created from Nardi’s Indah goal, an EBTKE representative, who was chosen as the Goal of the Tournament.

As a form of appreciation for the support of various parties, the GSI chairman and the team also handed over the award plaque to sponsors who had played an important role in the success of the tournament.

Through the Geothermal Soccer Championship 2025, a message is delivered that sports, especially football, can be an effective means of strengthening togetherness between stakeholders, strengthening collaboration, as well as being a medium for the socialization of geothermal development in Indonesia. The hope, this spirit of togetherness can encourage the acceleration of clean energy investment and strengthen Indonesia as one of the leading countries in the use of sustainable geothermal energy.
At the end of the event, Pak Julfi and Pak Carson expressed their hopes that Indonesia’s condition immediately recovered and rose again for the events that occurred lately and expressed their condolences to the victims.
