Samator defeats Bank Sumsel 3-1 and secure the third position of Proliga 2025-Viralterkini

Viralterkini.id, Jakarta -Surabaya Samator successfully won the third position in the PLN Mobile Proliga 2025 after overthrowing Palembang Bank Sumselbabel with a score of 3-1 (25-23, 25-13, 21-25, 25-23) in the race for the third place held at GOR Amongrogo, Yogyakarta, Sunday (11/5/2025).

Although only fighting over the third position, the match was fierce and interesting. Both teams reduce their best composition.

Samator lowered his flagship players such as Rama Fauzan, Tedy Oka, Hayun, and Lyvan Taboada.

While the South Sumatra Bank is strengthened by Sigit Ardian, Jordan, Cep Indra, as well as two foreign players namely Bradley Gunter and Marco Sedlacek.

In the first set, the South Sumatra Bank had led up to 17-15 thanks to the aggressive appearance of Bradley Gunter who had several successful points through sharp spikes.

However, Samator managed to rise and equalize at the numbers 21-21. Chasing pursuing numbers continued to occur, but Samator finally won thin 25-23 and took the first set.

Entering the second set, Samator appeared dominant from the start. Some mistakes from South Sumatra Bank players made Samator immediately win fast 6-0.

Samator’s solid game makes them even more unstoppable. The attack from Rama Fauzan Cs flowed smoothly through a combination of receive, spike, and block that made opponents overwhelmed. Samator ended the second set with a landslide victory 25-13 and a 2-0 lead.

In the third set, the South Sumatra Bank tried to rise. The game went tight with a score at the beginning of the set, 4-4.

The South Sumatra Bank began to find its rhythm and was 8-6 ahead, then continued to maintain excellence until 19-15.

Although Samator had pursued and reduced the lag to 22-19, the South Sumatra Bank remained superior and closed the third set with a 25-21 victory.

The fourth set becomes a determinant and is very tight. The South Sumatra Bank was 9-7 ahead, but Samator was able to equalize to 9-9.

After that, the two teams were chasing each other. The South Sumatra Bank again led 16-14, but Samator again showed a high fighting spirit and equalized the score 16-16.

At the end of the set, the error service from Marco Sedlacek was used by Samator to win 23-21, before finally closing the fourth set with a 25-23 victory.

With this result, Samator ended the PLN Mobile Proliga 2025 competition in third place. This victory was welcomed by the Samator camp.

The Assistant Coach of Bank Sumsel, Memet Tarmedi, admitted that his team played less than optimally. He said that his party had tried the setter rotation strategy, but the results were not as expected.

“The rotation of the setter that we did was unsuccessful. The team had also lost momentum from the beginning, making it difficult to develop the game,” Memet said after the match.

Meanwhile, manager Samator, Hadi Sampurna, expressed his gratitude for the achievement of his team.

According to him, Samator’s game has shown significant progress, although there are still things that need to be evaluated.

“Alhamdulillah, today the children played well and only made a little mistake. This is the result of the team’s hard work. We won third place, and this should be grateful,” said Hadi.

Regarding the future of Rodolfo’s head coach, Hadi could not be sure.

“Today there are positive developments, but for the continuation of the training we are still waiting for management decisions,” he added.

The Samator team captain, Rama Fauzan, also expressed his satisfaction with the results of the match.

He considered his team to show the unyielding spirit, especially after losing the third set.

“We had lost the third set, but we could rise in the fourth set. This is a worthy victory for us,” said Rama.

This victory confirmed Samator as one of Proliga’s top teams. Despite failing to step into the final, their consistent appearance throughout the tournament became an important capital for the following season.
