President Prabowo Subianto is proud of the Indonesian national team – Indonesia’s latest viral

Viralterkini.id, Jakarta – PSSI Chairperson, Erick Thohir, welcomed the Indonesian national team’s victory over China. He said the presence of President Prabowo Subianto brought luck to the Garuda squad.

Indonesia bent China 1-0 at the Bung Karno Main Stadium, Thursday (5/6/2025) night. The single goal scored by Romeny through the penalty at the end of the first half.

This victory is very crucial for Indonesia’s steps in the 2026 Asian Zone World Cup qualifiers. The result ensured that Garuda qualified for the fourth round.

Erick Thohir appreciated the struggle of players and support from the community. He also highlighted directly the support of the number one person in Indonesia.

President Prabowo Subianto was back at the stadium directly supporting the stands. This is the second time he has watched the national team match directly at GBK since becoming the 8th President of the Republic of Indonesia.

“Indeed, prayers from the Indonesian people and the president expect victory, so he is present,” said Erick. “Like I said, he brought hockey to be present twice. Twice attended two wins,” he continued.

Erick assessed that the presence of the President gave positive energy to the players. Prabowo is considered to carry the aura of victory every time they are present.

Previously, Prabowo also watched the match against Bahrain in March. At that time Indonesia also narrowly won 1-0.

Erick hopes that support from the Head of State can be maintained in the future. He said the collective spirit was very important in the struggle towards the World Cup.

President Prabowo himself also commented on the victory over China. He was grateful for the positive results and hoped that the national team continued to go far.

“Grateful we succeed (win over China),” Prabowo told reporters. “The journey still has a challenge, we must win against Japan.”
