Persita Appointed Carlos Pena as the New Coach – Indonesia’s Latest Viral

Viralterkini.id, Tangerang – Persita Tangerang officially appointed Carlos Pena as head coach of the first team for League 1 season 2025/2026. The Spaniard was contracted for one season with an extension option.

Pena appointment was greeted enthusiastically by the club management. The 41 -year -old figure is considered to have adequate experience and understanding of the dynamics of Indonesian League 1.

“We pointed out Carlos Pen, of course, with various considerations and experiences practicing,” said Persita club President Ahmed Zaki Iskandar. He added that Pena already knew the character of Indonesian football.

Pena experience in a number of European clubs is considered to be an added value. He has also handled teams in Spain, India, Thailand and Indonesia.

As a coach, Pena began his career at CF Lorca Deportiva and Ucam Murcia CF. He also briefly fostered Albacete’s young team before a career in Asia.

In 2022, Pena was appointed as FC Goa coach in the Indian League. A year later, he turned to the Thai League with Ratchaburi FC.

Last season, Pen had gushed Persija Jakarta. Now, he returns to the Indonesian League 1 with new challenges with the Cisadane warrior.

“We hope that by giving trust to Carlos Pena, Persita can perform even better in the coming season,” Ahmed Zaki said. He targets Persita to finish in the top three or even champions.

Pen also admitted that he was enthusiastic about welcoming his new duties in Tangerang. He said he was ready to work hard to form a competitive team.

As a professional player, Pen had a chance to strengthen big clubs such as Barcelona C, Barcelona B, Albacete, Real Valladolid and Getafe. His long career in European football is a strong capital to face League 1.

Persita management is optimistic that the presence of the pen will bring new enthusiasm and approach. They believe this brand -new coach is able to maximize the potential of the squad next season.
