VIRALTERKINI.ID, JAKARTA – In the midst of the dynamics of the Election of ILUNI UI Chairperson, an issue that associated the Alumni Scholarship Program at the Faculty of Law of the University of Indonesia (FHUI) with the practice of money politics.
Responding to this, Faizal Hafied, a senior FHUI alumni as well as the initiator of the Advocate Special Education Scholarship Program (PKPA) through the Indonesian National Lawyer Council (DPN) and FHP Law School, emphasized that the scholarship was purely born from personal concern, not for political purposes.
“For a long time I saw many younger siblings of FHUI alumni who wanted to take professional education, but were constrained by costs. From that anxiety, I felt the need to contribute. This scholarship was born purely from concern, not money politics. Indeed, it often happened, when there was a contestation, entering a quiet period, there were many people who were on a negative campaign,” Faizal said.
Faizal explained, PKPA scholarships were not given in cash, but rather direct benefits in the form of educational support.
“This program has been running for several years, not suddenly appearing during the momentum of the Pemila. We see that there are parties who deliberately use this into various kinds of accusations. It seems that there are no ideas and programs, until they are busy looking for material to attack programs that have been running for a long time,” concluded Faizal.
“Here there is no cash giving at all. Our support is in the form of providing educational scholarships for PKPA. If anyone is found to violate the rules of pemila, please reprimand us and report it to the committee. If there really is,” he said.
“We also need to emphasize once again, this scholarship is open to all FHUI alumni who need it, without a condition of support for certain UI Iluni chairman candidates,” said Fariz again.
Furthermore, he stressed that the PKPA scholarship program from DPN Indonesia and FHP Law School was not the first time.
Since the last few years, we have repeatedly distributed similar assistance to students and young FHUI alumni.
Thus, it is clear that this scholarship is a continuation of a concern commitment, not an impromptu program related to the election.
“Let other parties busy slandering, God willing, we continue to focus on expanding the benefits. This is a program for good, to give back. The goal is clear, helping access to professional education for younger alumni.
The name of the candidate for the Chairperson of ILUNI UI, M. Pradana Indraputra was mentioned in the news. Related to this, Faizal straightened out that the role of Pradana was only limited to ‘enabler’ which encouraged him to contribute significantly to alumni.
“This scholarship is from me, not from Pradana. In this case, funds only encourage me to take part, and I personally sympathize with the figure of funds and its commitment to alumni, so I am moved and participated.
Faizal also regretted the narrative that led this social program as a political issue. For him, if the real contribution of alumni is narrowed to his interpretation, then the spirit of togetherness will be injected.
“I believe this election must take place healthy and dignified. Do not let the care of alumni narrowed only because of the political dynamics for a moment,” he said.
In closing, Faisal emphasizes the essence of alumni care: provides concrete benefits, no matter how small, for the sustainability of education and self -development of fellow alumni.
“If anyone is helped, that is the main goal of this scholarship. I hope this small step can be an example that caring can be realized in real form, and should not be withdrawn into the political sphere,” he concluded.
