KPU DKJ lowered the Coktas team, focus on cleaning the latest voter data – Indonesia

VIRALTERKINI.ID, JAKARTA-The General Election Commission (KPU) of the Jakarta Special Province (DKJ) released a Limited Coklit Officers (Coktas) of Regency/City KPU in an official activity at the DKJ Provincial KPU Office, Wednesday (8/14/2025).

This program is part of the Sustainable Voter Data Updating (PDPB) which is carried out outside the election and election stages.

In contrast to matching and research (chocolate) during the election stage, Coktas was carried out by random sampling method and focus on voters who had not met the requirements, especially those who had died.

This step aims to ensure the voter list remains accurate, clean, and up -to -date, so that there are no more double voter data or include voters who are not entitled.

The Chairperson of the DKJ Provincial KPU, Wahyu Dinata, emphasized the importance of the sustainability of the voter data updating process. According to him, this job must not stop even though the election period was over.

“This Coktas activity is a proactive KPU effort to clean up data from voters who have died and who do not meet other requirements. We want to ensure that the voter list in DKI Jakarta is always maintained, so that during the election or elections, the data is ready to use and minimal problems,” Wahyu said.

He added, the accuracy of voter data was one of the keys to the success of the election and elections.

Valid data will minimize the potential of disputes, facilitate logistics, and ensure that every community’s votes are accommodated correctly.

The Chairperson of the DKJ Provincial KPU Data and Information Division, Fahmi Zikrillah, explained in more detail about the technical implementation of Coktas.

According to him, this update was carried out by taking a random sampling, then the officer went to the address according to existing data.

“Officers will conduct direct verification to the family or authorities. The results of this verification will be the basis for improving the voter list. This is work that seems simple, but it is very crucial to maintain the accuracy of data,” explained Fahmi.

Coktas is also a means of field evaluation, where administrative data compared to facts in the community.

That way, each discrepancy can be identified and repaired immediately.

The DKJ Provincial KPU invites the public to play an active role in this process. Residents are asked to provide correct information to officers, especially related to family members or neighbors who have died or move to domicile.

“Community participation is very important. Without correct information from residents, the process of updating the data will be difficult to optimal,” Wahyu said.

In addition to visiting residents’ homes, Coktas officers also cooperate with RT/RW and Kelurahan management to ensure accurate data. The support of regional apparatus is expected to facilitate the field verification process.

Before going to the field, Coktas officers were equipped with training regarding verification procedures, use of forms, and communication ethics with residents.

This is important to ensure that the implementation is professional and according to the provisions.

In the release that was held at the DKJ Provincial KPU office, the atmosphere went solemnly.

The event was opened with the remarks of the Chairperson of the KPU DKJ, followed by technical directions, joint prayers, and photo sessions. All officers then move towards their respective duties.

Updating data through Coktas is believed to have a positive impact on the holding of the upcoming elections and elections.

Clean voter data can minimize problems at the TPS, such as the name of the died voter but still listed or an inappropriate address.

Fahmi said, each verification result will be inputted into the KPU data system. Changes will immediately apply after going through a layered validation process, so that the accuracy of information can be accounted for.

This Coktas program is one of the KPU strategies to maintain the integrity of the voter list throughout the year.

In this way, the workload during the election stage can be reduced because most data has been verified earlier.

Closing the release activity, Wahyu reiterated the commitment of the DKJ Provincial KPU to maintain the quality of voter data.

He hopes that the community can accept Coktas officers well, provide information openly, and support this process for the creation of valid voter data.

“We invite all Jakarta citizens to jointly maintain the integrity of voter data. This is not only the task of the KPU, but also a shared responsibility as a citizen,” he concluded.

With the start of this Coktas activity, the DKJ Provincial KPU is optimistic that the voter list will be more qualified, so that the implementation of democratic parties in the Capital City runs smoothly and democratically.
