VIRALTERKINI.ID, JAKARTA – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) stated that he was analyzing the alleged corruption report on the procurement of Hajj catering 2025. The report was submitted by the Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW).
Acting Deputy for the KPK’s Enforcement and Execution, Asep Guntur Rahayu, emphasized that his party would also check the procurement of 2023 and 2024. The examination was carried out in conjunction with the investigation of the Hajj quota case.
“If I’m not mistaken, the procurement of 2025 is also reported to us. Now the plan is indeed, we are indeed in reports related to the quota, we will focus on the quota, but on the contrary, for example focus later we will also look for information related to catering reports, lodgings, and others,” said Asep, Tuesday (8/26/2025).
He added, the current analysis was handled by the KPK Complaints Report (PLPM). If you meet the requirements, the case will rise to the investigation stage.
“There will be a particular nowadays still at this stage, yes, analyzed at PLPM later going up to the investigation, we will focus more on there,” said Asep. He hopes that procurement documents related to catering and accommodation can be found.
Asep emphasized that the alleged corruption case of the Hajj quota was a big case. According to him, the amount of money involved in reaching trillions of rupiah.
“This is already running for the Hajj quota. Here it is indeed big, trillions because indeed we are also the number of worshipers around 200-250 thousand (pilgrims) are very large like that,” he said.
Previously, ICW reported the alleged misappropriation of 2025 Hajj funds to the KPK. The report was submitted on August 5, 2025.
“On this August 5, 2025, ICW officially reported alleged corruption related to the implementation of the pilgrimage, especially related to two things,” said the Head of the ICW Legal and Investigation Division, Wana Alamsyah.
He explained, the first suspicion was related to masyair services to the pilgrims. The second allegation concerns the reduction in consumption specifications.
ICW also highlighted the alleged feeding with calories that were not in accordance with the regulations of Permenkes. This is considered detrimental to the congregation.
In addition, ICW suspected that there was a levy in the procurement of Hajj consumption. The reported party is said to make a profit of Rp 50 billion.
ICW also calculates there is a reduction in food specifications worth 4 riyals per serving. The potential loss of the state due to the alleged practice was estimated at Rp 255 billion.
Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar responded to the report. He said the problem had been checked and no problem was found.
