Indonesian U-17 National Team Enters Group A of 2026 AFF U-17 Cup, Faces Vietnam and Malaysia

Viralterkini.idJAKARTA – The drawing for the group stage of the 2026 AFF U-17 Cup was held on Friday (6/3) at SCTV Tower, 8th floor, Jakarta. The draw results placed the Indonesian U-17 National Team in Group A along with Vietnam, Malaysia and Timor Leste.

In this group phase, the Garuda Muda squad coached by Kurniawan Dwi Yulianto is required to perform optimally to qualify for the next round. Competition in Group A is predicted to be tight, especially with the presence of Vietnam and Malaysia, who are often strong rivals at youth level.

The 2026 AFF U-17 Cup tournament is scheduled to take place next April. Two stadiums in East Java will be the match venues, namely the Gelora Joko Samudera Stadium in Gresik and the Gelora Delta Stadium in Sidoarjo.

In the previous edition in 2024, the Indonesian U-17 National Team managed to reach third place after beating Vietnam with a landslide score of 5-0 in the match for third place.
