Viralterkini.idSerang – Dewa United achieved an important victory with a narrow score of 1-0 over Persijap Jepara in the 30th week of the 2025/2026 Super League. The match which took place at the Banten International Stadium (BIS), Serang, Wednesday (29/4/2026) at 19.00 WIB was tight until the final minute.
The additional three points made Dewa United move up to seventh in the standings with a collection of 47 points. This position brings them closer to the top table, only one point adrift of Persebaya Surabaya who is in fifth position.
Playing in front of their own supporters, the team nicknamed Banten Warriors appeared to be pressing from the start. However, Persijap Jepara’s tight defense line made it difficult for the hosts to create clean opportunities throughout the match.
The drama actually happened in injury time. Dewa United goalkeeper, Sonny Stevens, emerged as a hero after saving Persijap’s penalty. The Dutch goalkeeper’s crucial save ensured that victory remained with the hosts.
Dewa United coach, Jan Olde Riekerink, appreciated his team’s hard work in this match. He considered that this victory reflected the players’ strong mentality even though they had to face a busy schedule with limited preparation time.
“This is proof of the team’s character. A busy schedule is not an excuse for a bad performance. The players showed extraordinary focus and enthusiasm,” said Riekerink.
He also praised the quality of his squad which was considered to have a positive atmosphere and strong unity. According to him, Dewa United is populated by a solid group of players who are ready to face the pressure in every match.
Apart from that, Riekerink reminded his team not to underestimate their opponents. He highlighted the improvement in Persijap Jepara’s performance, especially after the arrival of a number of new foreign players in the middle of the season.
“We know this will be a difficult match. Persijap is developing well and is more competitive. Therefore, this victory is very valuable for us,” he added.
This result is an important asset for Dewa United to continue competing to penetrate the top five of the standings for the remainder of the season. (ma)
