VIRALTERKINI.ID, JAKARTA – Cross -generation activists held a workshop commemorating 27 years of reform 1998 with the theme “From Political Democracy to Transformation of Economic Democracy” in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Activist 1998 Haris Rusly Moti as the coordinator of the facilitator of the event explained that the theme was appointed because the progress of economic democracy was lagging under the achievement of post -reform political democracy.
“So we can achieve political democracy with all kinds of weaknesses and advantages. Well, what we should look at us as activists in 1998 and the previous generation is a matter of democratization of the economy, which in our opinion is still far from fire,” said Haris.
He then said, “We want a democracy of our political freedom not only in polling stations (polling stations), but also access to the sources of our country’s wealth is also enjoyed by the people of Indonesia, this is a key point.”
As for the 27 Reformation Commemoration, he gave a note that the struggle to achieve the original reform was not only successfully achieved by the 1998 activist, but had been pioneered by previous activists since the 1970s.
“The 98 generation is a generation that finalizes the long struggle and has profit and can symbol as an activist who dropped Suharto, even though actually the struggle was long before from 1970 to 1998,” he said.
Thus, he continued, when the 2nd President of the Republic of Indonesia Soeharto resigned, the 1998 generation activist only had to pick the fruits of the reform struggle that had been pioneered for a long time, along with the New Order’s power which had indeed entered his era.
“The New Order was indeed too identified to the figure whose name was Suharto so that when he had begun to be aging, his power had begun to be paralyzed, well that’s where the momentum of the new generation commonly referred to as the 1998 generation,” he said.
Meanwhile, senior activist as well as a motorcycle of fifteen fifteen january 1974 (Malari) (Malari) Hariman Siregar assessed that democracy in Indonesia has been included in the category of mature democracy when viewing the leadership transition in the homeland that has been running six times without violence.
“If we only look at it, we are democracy, but if we look at the days, (there is) the weaknesses of democracy in the form of the weakness of civil society, it is already the parties whose recruitment is only choosing artists, choosing all kinds,” Hariman said when giving a keynote speech (Keynote Speech).
As for the theme carried out in the event, he views that economic democracy will be created by itself if the principles of democracy in the state are carried out seriously.
“So it is impossible for us to talk about economic democracy, if in our daily lives, we don’t practice it to be part of what our state of mind,” he said.
On this occasion, also attended Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker) Immanuel Ebenezer, Deputy Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo Priyono, Chair of the House of Representatives Commission III Habiburokhman, General Chairperson of the Indonesian Trade Union Confederation (KSPSI) Renewal Jumhur Hidayat, Regent of Central Tapanuli Masinton Pasaribu, Governor Gerung, and other cross -generation activists.
Meanwhile, the Speaker of the Indonesian Parliament and Chairman of the PDIP DPP Puan Maharani and Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian Parliament who is also the Daily Chairperson of the Gerindra Party DPP Sufmi Dasco who is scheduled to attend as a key speaker canceled at the event.
“I should have given respect to my two keynote speakers, namely Puan Maharani and Professor Sufmi Dasco earlier, and she apparently left the message, ‘Brother just took over everything. (ma)
