Viralterkini.id, Jakarta – The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) recorded a number of new disaster events that occurred in several regions of Indonesia based on monitoring results from the BNPB Control and Operations Center (Pusdalops) in the period 5 January 2026 to 6 January 2026, at 07.00 WIB.
The recorded events are still dominated by wet hydrometeorological disasters such as floods, flash floods, landslides and strong winds.
In North Sulawesi Province, flash floods hit 4 villages in 4 sub-districts, Sitaro Islands Regency on Monday (5/1).
This incident resulted in 11 people dying, five people being declared missing, and 17 people being injured.
A total of 143 heads of families or 444 people were forced to flee to safer places.
The regional government has declared Emergency Response status from January 5 to January 18 2026.
Currently, the floodwaters have receded, but efforts to search for victims who are still missing continue to be carried out by joint teams in the field.
Meanwhile, in South Kalimantan Province, flooding occurred in Banjarbaru City on Monday (5/1), with the impact of 57 heads of families or 175 people being affected and 57 housing units in Landasan Ulin Village, Landasan Ulin District, being submerged.
Until now, there is still standing water with a height of around 40 centimeters.
In East Java Province, flooding was also reported to have hit 5 villages in Sampang District, Sampang Regency, on Sunday (4/1).
This flood has affected 348 families. The inundation conditions at several points in the village have begun to recede, but the flood flow towards the downstream of the river has caused other areas to be observed to experience an increase as the rain continues.
BNPB also received reports of new flood events in a number of other areas. In Central Java Province, floods hit Grobogan Regency after high intensity rain occurred on Sunday (4/1).
The affected locations include Klambu Village in Klambu District, Karangsono Village in Karangrayung District and Katong Village in Toroh District.
The flood inundation affected 140 families or affected houses, with current conditions the water starting to gradually recede.
In West Java Province, flooding occurred in Cirebon City, resulting in 1,275 heads of families or 3,972 people being affected, and 130 people having to evacuate.
The affected area includes 5 sub-districts divided into 3 sub-districts. Currently, the flood conditions in the area have receded and residents are starting to clean up the remaining mud and rubbish carried by the flood.
Furthermore, in Lampung Province, floods triggered by weather factors hit Panengahan and Mada Jaya Villages, Way Khilau District in Pesawaran Regency on Monday (5/1).
This disaster has affected 320 heads of families. Currently, the waterlogging conditions in Panengahan Village are reportedly starting to gradually recede, but in Mada Jaya Village, the waterlogging is still persisting.
BNPB continues to coordinate with local governments and related elements to ensure emergency management runs optimally, including monitoring field conditions, meeting the basic needs of affected communities, as well as preparedness to face potential subsequent disasters, especially in weather conditions that still have the potential for rain.
