Coach Marcos Santos admitted that the physical condition of his squad had not yet fully recovered. According to him, last week’s match drained a lot of players’ energy.

“We have started preparation for Bhayangkara precision. Unfortunately there are some who suffered injuries but light,” said the Brazilian coach.

Santos was reluctant to mention the name of the player who was still in trouble with physical condition. He stressed that he would continue to monitor until the last training.

“I will continue to check the players. Hopefully opponents Bhayangkara can play,” he added.

In the match against PSIM, a number of players had received direct treatment on the field. Valdeci Moreira, Matheus Blade, and Betinho have a small problem.

In addition, Jayus Hariono and Odivan Koerich are still training separately. Both of them underwent recovery under the supervision of the club’s medical team.

“I think if someone is injured and absent, it’s normal. Yesterday Arema played far outside of Malang, but we played well,” Santos explained.

According to him, the red card in the 54th minute became a turning point that made the team’s energy drained. Playing with ten people forced players to work extra hard.

“We played 10 players and it drained a lot of energy. So many players were exhausted, then returned to Malang and still felt (not fit),” he said.

In addition to monitoring physical conditions, Santos also conducted an evaluation of the previous match. He considered that every match gave valuable lessons to the squad.

“We will give time until tomorrow to see the player’s condition. It is important for us to make sure everything is ready before facing Bhayangkara FC,” he concluded. (ma)
