Persikad is determined to break Persiraja’s bad record in the last match before the Eid break

Viralterkini.idDEPOK – Persikad Depok is determined to break its poor record when facing Persiraja Banda Aceh in the 21st week of the Pegadaian Championship. The match will be held at the Pakansari Stadium on Saturday (28/2) at 20.30 WIB, as well as being the last match before the Eid al-Fitr break.

The squad nicknamed the Margonda Wolves returned home after playing three consecutive away matches. Luthfi Kamal and his colleagues have the ambition to close the series of matches before the holidays with maximum results.

In the two previous meetings against Laskar Rencong, Persikad always lost narrowly 0-1. Persiraja’s two winning goals in that match were both scored by English striker, Connor Flynn-Gillespie.

Persikad head coach, Achmad Zulkifli, is aware of the quality of the opponents he will face. However, he emphasized that his team had confidence to turn things around.

“Persiraja is a good team, but they also have weaknesses and every team can be beaten,” said Achmad Zulkifli in the pre-match press meeting.

“We are optimistic that we will be able to change the situation and of course want to win the match. Tomorrow, hopefully the players can use all their efforts to achieve the results we want,” he added.

The dramatic victory over Sriwijaya FC last week was an important moral injection for Depok children. The additional three points cut the distance with Persiraja while keeping Persikad out of the red zone of the standings.

Currently, Persikad is still in seventh place with a collection of 26 points, two points adrift of Persiraja who scored 28 points after losing to FC Bekasi City. Victory in the match will open up opportunities for Persikad to overtake Laskar Rencong’s position on the standings.

It is hoped that the supporters’ support will provide additional energy for the Margonda Wolves to break the negative trend and close the match before the break with a winning smile. (ma)
