Indra Sjafri will play all the players to find the right player composition ahead of the 2026 Sea Games

Viralterkini.id, Jakarta – Indonesian U-23 National Team coach Indra Sjafri has a target in the trials against India at the Madya Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, Jakarta, on Friday, 10 October and Monday, 13 October 2025. According to him, the two trials will be an arena to see all the abilities of his players in preparing the team for the 2025 SEA Games.

After being appointed by PSSI as the Indonesia U-23 coach for the 2025 SEA Games, Indra admitted that he already had a list of 50 players who had been registered to appear in Bangkok, Thailand.

From the list of 50 names, most were called up for this training camp. Try to know the player’s background, including statistics and genetics, in depth.

“This is a trial in order to find the best format, the 23 best players for the SEA Games, also in stages and processes to find the 11 best players.”

“Therefore, the U-22 National Team’s appearance tomorrow is an initial performance, not a performance ready for the SEA Games,” said Indra in a press conference before the trial against India, Thursday (9/10).

To explore the players’ best potential, Indra carried out a number of tests. One of them is the DNA Talent test. This is done so that all required data is obtained completely.

“The test program that I carried out, including yesterday I carried out a DNA talent test because I wanted to know exactly who the person I appointed was really competent,” said Indra.

“I don’t want to be accused by the public and of not being able to take responsibility for the players I choose. That’s why I instructed the staff to collect the necessary data,” he said.

The 2025 SEA Games will take place from 9-20 December 2025. As the defending champion in the sport of soccer, Indra wants the U-23 Indonesian National Team to win another gold medal. (ma)
