VIRALTERKINI.ID, JAKARTA – Higher education institutions have an important role in facing the current global challenges that can be underlined at this time the urgent need for the Sustainable Development Framework, especially in line with the Sustainable Development Objectives (SDGs) delivered by the Directorate of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Ministry of PPN/Bappenas Dr. Brian Pratistha in the STIAMI National Vocational Seminar at the DKI Jakarta Education Office Building Saturday, August 9, 2025.
According to Brian, the role of higher education institutions, especially vocational programs, is very important, because these goals emphasize the integration and balance of social, economic, and environmental dimensions, which are supported by inclusive governance mechanisms.
“In the 2025-2029 RPJMN, vocational education and training became concerned as well that vocational education and training as the main tool to encourage increased labor productivity.” Said Brian in the keynote speace of the STIAMI National Vocational Seminar at the DKI Jakarta Education Office Building Saturday, August 9, 2025.
Brian revealed that currently the Directorate of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Ministry of PPN/Bappenas encourages how to increase the productivity of science and technology in national development where one of its providers is a higher education institution, especially the vocational program and the final goal is to increase economic development.

This human -centered development aims, improve the quality of life and well -being, enable human capabilities to improve dignity and dignity by fulfilling all basic needs, as well as using the life cycle approach by promoting the principles of phartnership collabiration with the aim of accelerating the achievement of Indonesian SDGs targets.
In line with this, the Rector of STIAMI Institute Prof. Dr. Silvyana Murni, SH., M.Sc. Also present at the same time conveyed in the opening remarks at the National Seminas Vocational event about the role of higher education institutions, especially STIAMI Institutes in assisting MSMEs in increasing tax awareness in order to support development and the realization of goals from SDGs.
“The role of education in realizing SDGs becomes the current trend, and I hope that students, especially students of the STIAMI Institute not only work but also how to produce a generation of green, innovative and sided with social justice.” He said Silvyana Murni in his opening remarks at the STIAMI National Vocational Seminar at the DKI Jakarta Education Office Building Saturday, August 9, 2025.
He also said that there was a need for three main key elements so that the role of education could support and realize its role in SDGs, namely the first intelligent taxation, the second accounting that was constantly sustainable, and vocational education was required to prepare an entrepreneur that combined business competitiveness and sustainable principles.

In the event which was attended by three main speakers moderated by the Head of D4 Business Accounting Citra Novlyani, S.AP., MA in a panelist session including Chairman of IKPI Vaudy Starworld S. SE., SH., Ak., CA then Chairman of the DKI Jakarta Apindo DPD Dr. H. Solihin, SH., MH., C.Med., CAC and Lecturer Institute STIAMI Yuliawan, SP., MM, CRP, CHCM, CRMPF, CPL.
SDGs which is a transformation of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), can be said to be a more comprehensive goals because it involves many countries, as well as expanding funding both from the government, the private sector and from other sources by emphasizing human rights in poverty reduction which is the goals involving all stakeholders.
According to the Chairman of IKPI Vaudy Starworld S. SE., SH., AK., CA that the principle of SDGs is as a progress in one dimension that requires active involvement in other dimensions opening opportunities for international partnerships as an effort to ownership together as well as SDGs as a comprehensive, integrated and inseparable frame.
“The universal principle aims to progress all nations, while the purpose of SDGs is to end poverty, reduce the gap and protect the environment.” Said Vaudy Startworld in the STIAMI Vocational National Seminar Panelis session.
The application of SDGs as a goal of sustainable development or sustainable development goals (SDGs) will be the basis for improving the quality of education in the world where Indonesia is one of the countries that participated.

Improving education for the Indonesian people will spur the achievements of the SDGs goals, one of which is to improve the quality of the index of human development in Indonesia.
Vaudy revealed that currently the challenges in realizing SDGs from the tax side are still a frightening specter in the community.
“We must understand that taxes are not only government tools in gathering and receiving income, but tax is also a tool to direct behavior.” He said.
There needs to be more in -depth education to the community so that tax perceptions in the community that were originally a scourge in order to foster awareness that taxes are a direct way of citizens to participate in development.
In the STIAMI Vocational National Seminar Panelis session, DKI Jakarta Apindo DPD Chairperson Dr. H. Solihin, SH., MH., C.Med., CAC. See that the need for synergy of the business world with educational institutions in realizing more optimal SDGs.
According to Dr. H. Solihin, SDGs demanded the business world not only to pursue profits, but also care for humans and the environment. On the other hand SDGs also requires opportunities for consumers to prefer brands that care about sustainability, so that the synergy of the business world with educational institutions becomes an urgency that inevitably must be done to achieve the target of SDGs.
“It should be noted that the Triple Bottom Line in the run of SDGs, namely People, Planet, and Profit, and the role of the university is needed in supporting the SDGs -based curriculum is not only necessary, but a necessity.” Dr. H. Solihin in his material exposure.
Meanwhile, according to Lecturer Institute STIAMI Yuliawan, SP., MM, CRP, CHCM, CRMPF, CPL. He views ongoing accounting in relation to SDGs that, sustainability accounting or sustainability accounting which is the process of recording, measurement, and reporting financial and non-financial information relating to aspects of sustainability. This includes environmental, social, and corporate governance (environmental, social, and governance/ESG) in business activities.
“Sustainability Accounting has several focus, namely environmental/environmental (including carbon emissions, energy consumption, waste management, and water use); social (including labor rights, work safety, and community involvement); and governance/governance (including business ethics, transparency, anti -corruption, and sustainable organizational structure).” Yuliawan said in his material exposure.
According to Yuliawan, the development of sustainability accounting is not just a trend, but the need in answering global challenges of sustainability. With transparent and accountable practices, companies not only improve financial performance, but also contribute to the environment and community welfare in a sustainable manner.
The STIAMI Vocas’ National Seminar event held at the DKI Jakarta Education Office Building Saturday, August 9, 2025, was attended by more than 500 participants from the Vocational Program, Bachelor and Postgraduate Program.
On the occasion, the STIAMI Institute at the same time signed a memorandum of agreement or MoU with various partners including Apindo DKI Jakarta, Aprindo, Emtek Digital Multimedia Institute, CS Literacy Foundation Life and Life and
Indonesian Entrepreneurial Foundation.
The purpose of this collaboration is in order to realize the role of educational institutions to support SDGs in increasing the productivity of science and technology and innovation. (***)
