VIRALTERKINI.ID, JAKARTA-Indonesian sailors who are members of each alumni corps, academy cross alumni alumni and Corps Alumni Academy of Shipping Sciences (CAAIP) as a pioneer participated in celebrating the commemoration of the World Seafarer Day event at the Parle Resto at Senayan, Friday (27/6) night. A number of officials and seafarers were present to enliven the activity that took the Gala Dinner Seafarer Day.
“Alhamdulillah, all of us (Indonesian sailors) can gather here. With the support of all Indonesian sailors, shipping companies and logistics companies, finally all alumni ties and shipping schools throughout Indonesia can gather and embrace each other. Harry Buana Putra and Capt. Andi Pakpahan as Deputy Chairperson in his remarks. Capt Andi M Pakpahan as the Deputy Chair of the Committee also hoped that the unity and unity of all shipping alumni to achieve the ideals of the nation related to maritime.
According to Capt. Harry as one of the countries that has the most seafarers in the world, Indonesian sailors have contributed to shaping the work standards and competencies of world sailors. Including participating in creating a safe and free work environment from harassment on all ships in accordance with the theme of World Seaman Day ‘My Harrasment Free Ship’. Where all ships that are a place of work must respect human rights, protect workers from all forms of harassment, harassment and ensure safety safety and welfare.
“With Indonesia’s position as one of the world’s largest contributors to 1,568,939 seafarers based on the Ministry of Transportation’s data. We (Indonesian sailors) are also committed to creating a professional work environment and free from harassment. Indonesian sailors contribute to creating a better maritime work system,” he said.
Similarly, as the committee of the Gala Dinner Capt. Syida Menjara emphasized that Indonesian sailors were an inseparable part of the worldly maritime system. Therefore, for Capt. Syaiida, it is important to continue to collaborate with the Ministry of Transportation and all stakeholders in order to encourage the improvement of the fate and welfare of Indonesian sailors.
In the same place as the committee of the Gala Dinner Capt. Hendri, Capt. Gandha Febriansyah and Capt. Taufan Sofiandy also gave a message to all Indonesian sailors to always maintain professionalism, dignity and respect for seniors and coworkers as part of a large family. Capt. Taufan Sofiandy gave the word his pearl, “wake up your sea then your people will be victorious and don’t forget your hereafter.
“We must be proud that Indonesia will join in celebrating World Seaman Day. I am sure that Indonesian sailors will be part of the 2045 gold generation. We want to continue to be guided by the Ministry of Transportation to achieve the vision and mission of the nationality,” he said.
Meanwhile, representing the Ministry of Transportation, the Sesadirjen Sea Transportation Mr. Lollan Andy S. Panjaitan believes that Indonesian sailors have a commitment to form the world of work without harassment. Moreover, according to him, as a regulator, the Ministry of Transportation will also continue to try to fight for the profession of the Indonesian sailor profession. Both for regulations at the national level and at the international level.
“We (the Ministry of Transportation) appreciate the implementation of tonight’s activities. This is all (the commitment of the sailors) to be the key to Indonesia’s maritime progress in the eyes of the world. According to the theme of World Seaman Day: ‘My Harrasment Free Ship’, I believe that collaboration is the key to forming a better work atmosphere on a ship without violence and without harassment,” Lollan said.
Member of Commission VI of the DPR-RI Capt. Unru Baso who is also a graduate of Barombong Shipping School revealed his appreciation to the committee who held this Gala Seafarer Day activity. According to him, forums and meetings like this are important to unite all the potential of Indonesian sailors spread throughout the world.
“Everything here is very special. We all have a commitment to continue to contribute to the development of sailors in Indonesia. Hopefully the event will be more festive and able to strengthen the unification of maritime people,” he said.
On that occasion, Chairman of CAAIP Capt. Iko Johansyah together with alumni of the Shipping Academy & Alumni Association also gave a number of awards to Indonesian sailors. Among the highest awards to Indonesian sailors who are committed to advancing the world of maritime maritime and maritime industry, namely Dr. Capt Antoni Arif Priadi (Secretary General of the Ministry of Transportation) and Capt. Unru Baso (Member of Commission VI of the DPR-RI 2024-2029).
The award was also given to the Chairperson of INSA Carmelita Hartoto as a visionary businessman. Including the Indonesian Women’s Seaman award which this time was handed over to Capt. Suarniati who led Indonesia Female Marine Asociation (IFMA).
