FFI Announces Hector Souto as Indonesia’s Latest Head Coach and Dirtek – Viral

Viralterkini.id, Jakarta – Finally the Indonesian Futsal Federation abbreviated as FFI announced and reiterated the role of Hector Souto as head coach of the Indonesian men’s futsal national team until 2028, as well as officially introducing his appointment as FFI Technical Director.

The extension of the Hector contract as a head coach has been announced since March 2025. However, this moment is crucial to confirm the public and strategic mandate that he now embed, and reinforced his position as a central figure in the national futsal technical transformation.

Through the Decree of the Chairperson of FFI, Hector Souto now officially serves as Technical Director, the position that gave him full legitimacy to lead the direction of Indonesian futsal technical development – starting from the national team level, early age development, to strengthening the professional league.

As head coach, Hector will lead the men’s national team in a number of important agendas such as AFC Futsal Asian Cup 2026, ASEAN Futsal Championship, and AFC Futsal Asian Cup 2028, with a major mission: led Indonesia to qualify for the 2028 Futsal World Cup.

As engineering director, Hector will focus on development strategies in the three main pillars, namely the national team program, national development ecosystem and strengthening the professional league.

“This is not just a continuation, but a new chapter,” said Hector Souto.

“In my role as head coach and technical director, I will focus on three strategic pillars – national teams, futsal development, and professional competitions – which are interconnected and strengthened each other to ensure real progress for Indonesian futsal.”

“I understand the Indonesian futsal context in depth, but I also believe that true progress can only be achieved through collaboration,” he continued.

“I am forming a technical team that is proactive and open, while actively listening to the aspirations of all stakeholders-starting from the club, academy, regional associations, to technical staff. This inclusive approach will ensure that the development framework that we build really answers needs in the field, without losing strategic direction to bring Indonesian futsal to the class at all levels.”

FFI emphasized that this new structure provided official authority and public role to Hector Souto as national futsal technical leaders, while ensuring the continuity of long -term development vision towards 2028. (MA)
