Attorney General’s Office of Nadiem Makarim in the alleged corruption case of the Ministry of Education and Culture Ristek – Viralterkini

Viralterkini.id, Jakarta – The name of the Minister of Culture, Research and Technology (Mendikbud Ristek) Nadiem Makarim is rumored to be the opportunity to be called by the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic of Indonesia (AGO) as a result of the alleged corruption case in the internal Ministry of Education and Culture.

Previously, the Indonesian Attorney General’s Office was reportedly investigating a case of alleged corruption regarding the education digitization program for the 2019-2022 period.

In his statement, the Head of the Legal Information Center of the Attorney General’s Office Harli Siregar revealed that the opportunity for the examination of Nadiem was likely to occur after the investigators searched the residence of two Nadiem special staff on Wednesday last week.

The figure who is familiarly called Harli said that his party would later examine anyone suspected of being involved in this case in order to support the investigation process effort.

“Which parties to be examined in this case depends on the needs of the investigator to make the light of this crime,” Harli was quoted as saying Wednesday (5/28/2025).

He asserted, the investigator would not be reluctant to examine any party who was suspected to have been involved in the alleged essay of corruption at the Ministry of Education and Culture.

“All parties. Anyone who makes the bright crime can be carried out and examined,” said Harli.

For information, the Indonesian AGO had previously successfully confiscated evidence in the form of laptops, cellphones to documents.

Harli said the confiscation was carried out after the investigator had conducted a search at the residence of the two special staff of Nadim Makarim located in the Kuningan Place Apartment owned by FH and Ciputra World 2 Apartment owned by JT.

“As a special staff of the Minister of Dikbudristek,” he told reporters on Monday (5/26/2025).

Harli explained based on the results of the search last Wednesday, investigators had succeeded in confiscating the alleged evidence in the form of 1 unit of laptop and 4 units of FH apartments.

While based on JT’s apartment search activities, investigators seized evidence in the form of 1 laptop and 3 external storage units in the form of hard drives and flash disks, as well as 15 note documents.

As in the case of alleged corruption, the investigator has found indications of evil procurement through special direction to the technical team to make a study of the procurement of ICT equipment in the form of a laptop arguing of educational technology development.

Harli explained, through the pretext of the study, it was suspected that there was a scenario that referred to the request for procurement of laptops on a Chrome or Chromebook system base.

Harli explained, whereas in 2019 the procurement of 1,000 Chromebook units was not effective to be used as educational or learning suggestions.

Because, continued Harli, not all regions in Indonesia are facilitated by the existence of the internet that can be connected to the chromebook -based laptop.

“Why is it not effective, because we know that he is based on the internet, while in Indonesia the internet is not all the same,” explained Harli.

Harli said, the submission of budget funds for the procurement of Chromebook laptops received Rp 9.9 trillion which was divided into two budget.

The two budgets, namely Rp3.58 trillion, are funds in the education unit and Rp6,399 trillion through special allocation funds or DAK.

Harli added, investigators are currently continuing to calculate the loss rate caused by alleged corruption cases in the internal Ministry of Education and Culture.
