Viralterkini.id, Jakarta — National Championship (Kejurnas) Amateur Mixed Martial Arts (IBCA) MMA Dankorps Brimob Polri Cup officially took place at Mako Brimob Polri, Kelapa Dua, Depok, from 18 to 21 November 2025.
This national event recorded high enthusiasm with attendance 516 athletes from 20 provinces throughout Indonesia.
The National Championship was officially opened by Dankorps Brimob Polri, Komjen Pol. Ramdani Hidayat SH., represented by Wadankorps Brimob, Inspector General of Police Reza Arief Dewanto.
General Chairperson of the DKI Jakarta IBCA MMA Provincial Committee, Brigadier General Poll Greetings PJ, SIK, SIK, SIK, expressed great appreciation for the organization of the competition which took place at GOR Satya Prabu Mako Brimob Polri.
He believes that this championship shows a positive development in public interest in amateur mixed martial arts.
“We hope that the IBCA MMA National Championship, which is held every year at the Kelapa Dua Police Mobile Brigade Headquarters, will continue to experience an increase in participants. We hope that more talented athletes will be born from here and can appear at international events,” said Gatot in front of hundreds of participants, Tuesday (18/11/2025).
In his speech, Gatot explained that the IBCA MMA National Championship is not just a competition, but a structured coaching facility for athletes from various regions.
He emphasized that this championship has a strategic role in preparing Indonesia’s future fighters.
“This is a place of proof, honor, as well as a place for development to produce strong athletes who uphold sportsmanship, discipline and courage,” he said.
Gatot added that this year’s IBCA MMA National Championship was also part of the process selection of athletes who will be prepared for international championshipsboth Asian and global levels.
With increasingly tight global competition, coaching athletes from an early age is considered an important aspect to produce consistent achievements.
On this occasion, Gatot gave a special message to all participants. He emphasized that the meaning of a championship is not only measured by the championship belt that is brought home, but from the mental attitude and character that is built during the competition process.
“The IBCA MMA National Championship is not just about chasing a championship belt, but about how you appear with courage, strategy and a chivalrous attitude,” he said.
He also expressed his thanks to all parties who had contributed, starting from the ranks of the Police Mobile Brigade, committee, referees, coaches, to the participants.
“With the cooperation of all elements, this championship can be held well. We hope that the IBCA MMA National Championship Dankorps Brimob Polri Cup becomes an even bigger annual agenda,” he added.
Meanwhile, Secretary General of PP IBCA MMA, Maraden Lumbantoruanwho represented the Chairman of PP IBCA MMA Marsda TNI I Made Susila Adnyana, welcomed the plan to hold the National Championship on an ongoing basis every year at the Police Mobile Brigade Headquarters.
According to Maraden, the continuation of amateur competitions is an important factor in maintaining the rhythm of training and improving athlete performance.
“This is a great opportunity for athletes to hone their skills and demonstrate their achievements. If done consistently, our athletes’ achievements will continue to improve and they will be ready to compete in international events,” he said.
He gave an example of Indonesia’s preparations towards Asian Championship in Lebanon next yearwhere a number of athletes have attempted long-term coaching programs.
According to him, the 2025 National Championship is an important moment to monitor the condition, development and readiness of athletes to face foreign competitions.
“In this way, this national championship event is very important as a means of monitoring achievements at the international level,” said Maraden.
The participation of 516 athletes from 20 provinces shows the high interest in amateur mixed martial arts in Indonesia.
Competition classes that are opened in various categories allow the spread of potential seeds from all over Indonesia.
The athletes come from IBCA MMA clubs and provincial administrators who have undergone systematic training.
This reflects the federation’s seriousness in encouraging the competitive quality of amateur combat sports in the country.
A number of provinces with the most participants include DKI Jakarta, West Java, East Java, North Sumatra and South Sulawesi.
The presence of hundreds of athletes at one event is also an important momentum for the federation in assessing the development of the quality of coaching in each region.
With the 2025 IBCA MMA National Championship underway, PB and the IBCA MMA Provincial Committee hope that this competition will become a strong foundation for the development of amateur mixed martial arts sports in Indonesia.
Apart from being a selection event, the National Championship is also expected to be a space for young athletes to show their potential and prepare themselves for the international stage.
Routine implementation every year is projected to be able to encourage the growth of a healthy, competitive and achievement-oriented sports ecosystem.
Full support from Brimob Polri, KONI, and various related parties is considered to be the key to the sustainability of the IBCA MMA development program in the future.
