DKI Sports Development Pyramid
General Chairperson of KONI DKI Jakarta, Prof. Hidayat Humaidhighlighting the importance of continuity in sports development from student level to international achievements.
He introduced the concept Achievement Sports Development Pyramid which is the foundation of the Capital City’s sports development system.
According to him, there are two main institutions in the pyramid: DKI Jakarta Disporawhose role is to develop pupils and students, as well KONI DKI Jakartawhich handles athletes at the performance level.
“Sport deifies the process. If the process is good, the results will definitely be good,” he said.
“However, coaching often stops when athletes graduate from PPOP and enter college. Even though at that age, their performance is actually at their peak.”
Hidayat believes that there needs to be an integrated coaching system that connects PPOP, PPLM, and Pelatda to Pelatnas, so that there is no vacancy in post-event coaching such as POPNAS.
He encourages collaboration across institutions, including schools, universities and local governments, to create a sustainable sports ecosystem.
DKI Dispora Ready to Improve Trainer Structure
Head of the DKI Jakarta Dispora, Andri Yansyahstated that the evaluation of POPNAS results is a reflection of comprehensive improvements in the regional sports system.
He emphasized the importance of firmness and accountability in every sport.
“Sports must be as it is. If administrators or coaches do not perform well, they must have the courage to replace them. Evaluation is not just a formality, but a concrete step to improve the system,” said Andri.
DKI Dispora, he continued, will strengthen trainer governance, update the selection system, and encourage transparency in the coaching program.
He also highlighted the importance of synergy between Dispora and KONI so that development does not run separately.
PPOP Encourages Tiered Development
Head of PPOP DKI Jakarta, Rusdiyantoexplained that his party had implemented a system for developing young athletes in stages, starting from identification and recruitment, planned training programs, character development, to academic support.
“We are also working with the Education Department so that athletes can continue to attend school without disrupting academic activities,” said Rusdiyanto.
According to him, PPOP plays an important role as a liaison from student level to PPLM, Pelatda, to Pelatnas.
With planned coaching and a promotion-relegation system, PPOP ensures that only highly committed athletes can survive and develop.
DKI Wushu Records Brilliant Achievements

Synergy for Integrated Development
The discussion initiated by Siwo PWI Jaya resulted in one big conclusion: the development of young athletes must be carried out holistically structured, systematic and sustainable from elementary level to the pinnacle of international achievement.
With strong collaboration between Dispora, KONI, schools and sports communitiesIt is hoped that DKI Jakarta can become a national barometer in comprehensive modern sports development – producing world champion athletes from the capital city.
