VIRALTERKINI.ID, JAKARTA – Thousands of sailors who are members of the Corps of Alumni of the Shipping Science Academy (CAAIP) and the Alumni of the All Indonesia Shipping Academy Alumni followed a leisure walk or fun walk at Ancol Beach, Jakarta, on Sunday (29/6) morning.
Thousands of sailors along with his family members looked compact wearing a jersey uniform that read Day of the Seafarer 2025, and walked about 5 kilometers from the starting point to the finish point.
The Fun Walk event began with the lively marching band game presented by the Taruna-Taruni Vocational School of shipping in Jakarta. The Marching Band troops later became the accompaniment and leisurely road companion or fun walk involving sailors and their families. The atmosphere was even increasingly boisterous when the Maching Band troops brought a number of nostalgia jingles who reminded the sailors with the past of school.
“Thankfully, this morning Funwalk has succeeded in gathering two thousand Alumni of the Cruise Academy. God willing, we will continue to maintain this kind of program and hope to involve the community more broadly,” said Section Section Head of the Captain Section Syida doubtful in an interview with your media.
Chairman of the Funwalk Day of the Seafarer 2025 Committee, Capt Harry Buana Putra said that this relaxing walk agenda was actually a form of appreciation to Indonesian sailors who were on duty in any waters. According to him, Indonesian sailors must boast because their profession has a very crucial role to drive world trade and maintain the stability of supply chains, aka supply chains of goods and services.
“(Through a series of Fun Walk Day of the Seafarer 2025) We actually want to give maximum appreciation for all Indonesian sailors who are struggling to work for family life and the interests of their nation. Today we celebrate for all Indonesian sailors who are undergoing their work throughout the world. Build our pride as Indonesian sailors,” he said.
Capt Harry also reminded sailors to jointly create a safe and free work environment from harassment in accordance with the theme of World Seaman Day ‘My Harrasment Free Ship’. Where all ships that are a place of work, should be able to respect human rights, protect workers from all forms of harassment and ensure safety safety and welfare. This commitment must also be carried out by Indonesian sailors to female sailors around the world.
“We (Indonesian sailors) are committed to realizing the work environment on ships that are free from harassment, harassment and bullying. Referring to IMO’s records, almost 50 percent of female sailors experience a bullying and harassment.
On that occasion, the sailors also delivered a number of statements of attitude related to the commemoration of World Seaman Day. Among the demands that want a regulation at the level of law that protects the sailor profession. Including a statement that confirms that Indonesian sailors are lex specialis workers and are not included in the migrant worker group.
“Our commercial sailors are Lex Specialis and not migrant workers. We, Niaga Shipping Seamors want regulations on Professional Protection at the Level of Law,” said Capt Harry along with a number of other academy alumni administrators. (ma)
