This is the Chronology of the Terra Drone Building Fire

Viralterkini.id, Jakarta – Police revealed the chronology of the fire at the Terra Drone Building on Jalan Letjen Suprapto No.17, Cempaka Baru, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (9/12/2025). The fire occurred at lunch time.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Pol Susatyo Purnomo Chondro said the fire was thought to have started from a burning battery in the warehouse on the 1st floor.

When the fire broke out, many employees were in the building and some were eating lunch outside.

“There was a battery on the 1st floor which caught fire and was extinguished by employees. It turned out the burning battery spread because the 1st floor was the warehouse. The employees were eating outside and were taking a break on 2nd 3rd and 6th. The fire got bigger and the smoke rose to the 6th floor,” said Susatyo.

The fire quickly spread to floors 2, 3 to 6. Thick smoke rose to fill every floor of the Terra Drone Building.

“The fire got bigger, the smoke rose to the 6th floor,” said Susatyo.

As a result of this incident, 22 people died. Some of the victims were found not burned, but were thought to have died due to suffocation from lack of oxygen.

“The victims we saw were not burnt but limp,” said Susatyo.

Currently, the victims who died as a result of the fire were taken to the National Police Hospital to be identified.

Meanwhile, Firefighters are still extinguishing and searching for victims on each floor of the Terra Drone Building.

The rescue of trapped victims was dramatic and tense. There are a number of people suspected of being employees who are still trapped on top of the 7-story building.

They were seen saving themselves using the ladder of a fire engine installed on the side wall of the building. One by one, the employees took turns descending the stairs.

They were evacuated while the smoke was still very thick from below. After arriving, the firefighters were ready to help and take them to the ambulance that had been provided at the location.

The female employee who managed to save herself was seen crying.

“It is suspected that the fire started from the ground floor,” said one of the employees.
