Viralterkini.id, Jakarta – PSBS Biak coach, Divaldo Alves, revealed the worrying conditions that he and a number of players are facing regarding the right to pay salaries from club management.
The Portuguese coach said that he had not received a salary for almost 2.5 months, while several players had only received partial payments.
This situation was revealed by Divaldo in a press conference after the PSBS Biak match against Persijap Jepara in the 14th week of the BRI Super League 2025/2026 at the Maguwoharjo Stadium, Sleman, Thursday (27/11/2025) evening WIB.
In this match, PSBS managed to win 3-2, but the club’s internal condition was far from stable.
In his statement, Divaldo did not hide that the financial problems that hit the club had a significant impact on the psychological condition of the players.
According to him, PSBS’s inconsistent performance in the previous few matches could not be separated from mental disorders due to problems that occurred behind the scenes.
“From the previous few matches, the players were mentally unstable because there were things going on at the back, and that definitely disrupted the style of play. There are several salary situations that need to be resolved. I myself haven’t been paid for almost 2.5 months,” said Divaldo.
Apart from him, said Divaldo, a number of players also did not receive their full salaries and were only paid 30 to 50 percent.
However, this 47 year old coach emphasized that he and the squad still have full trust in management to resolve this problem.
“There are some players who only got 30 percent, 50 percent. But we still believe in management that they will resolve this problem as soon as possible,” continued the former Persik Kediri coach.
This is not the first time PSBS has had internal financial problems. Since last season, the club nicknamed the Pacific Storm has been grappling with salary arrears and issues of rifts within internal management.
Until this season entered the first half, this problem had not shown clear signs of resolution.
This situation even dragged PSBS into serious consequences, namely a transfer ban from FIFA.
According to data from the official FIFA website, PSBS is currently accepting ban on player registration for the next three transfer market periods.
In the updated list as of 20 October 2025 and 6 November 2025, the name PSBS appears twice as the club affected registration ban.
This kind of ban is usually given due to violations related to the transfer process, including payment obligations to players or third parties that are due, as well as termination of contracts without valid reasons.
Divaldo said that the management said that a number of these problems were a legacy of the old management and were in the process of being resolved.
“There is information from management that the old management will solve the problem, because several tire transfer situations also came from the old management,” he said.
The UEFA licensed coach said that the transfer ban was a big obstacle for him in carrying out his duties as head coach.
Without the freedom to recruit, coaches lose the option to improve team composition, bring in new players, or release players who do not suit tactical needs.
“That’s the nightmare of all coaches in the world. All coaches think they can improve the team through transfers or selling players. If that doesn’t exist, it’s very difficult. That’s certainly disturbing,” he said.
Even though he is in difficult conditions, Divaldo continues to emphasize his commitment to maximizing the potential of the existing squad. He assessed that a number of mental and operational aspects in the team must be immediately improved.
“What I know is that as head coach now, the situation is very difficult. But I believe in the existing players. There are indeed several things that we need to improve, especially the mental condition within the group. There must be changes from management,” he stressed.
With three additional points after the victory over Persijap Jepara, PSBS actually has the opportunity to improve its position in the standings.
However, these various internal problems pose a threat that could damage the club’s stability if they are not immediately handled professionally.
The players are said to continue to train and compete with full commitment, but the team’s continued performance is very dependent on resolving their financial rights.
The PSBS management chaos is now in the spotlight of the national football public, especially because it involves official sanctions from FIFA.
PSBS supporters hope that management will move quickly to complete obligations to coaches and players, and ensure that the club can return to being active in the transfer market in the next period.
Without a comprehensive solution, PSBS is threatened with facing greater challenges in the remaining competition.
