VIRALTERKINI.ID, CIBUBUR – The Indonesian Youth Tournament Youth Tournament Youth Football Tournament for the Jakarta area was officially opened at the Trisakti Nagrak Field, Cibubur, Monday (6/30).
The opening of this tournament marks a strong commitment to develop young national football talents through quality competition in international format.
The opening process of the Laliga Youth Tournament is accompanied by a paradise parades from the participants from the age category of U12, U14, and U16. They raised the flag of the pride of each club.
LaLiga Youth Tournament Indonesia will compete three age groups, namely U12, U14, and U16. Different from the previous edition which still uses format 7 vs 7 and 9 vs 9 for two initial age groups, this year LaLiga Youth Tournament Indonesia applies the 11 vs 11 format in all age categories.
The opening ceremony was marked by the symbolic handover of the ball from The Footballicious CEO who also acted as the competition promoter, Andhika Suksmana, to the match device.
The LaLiga Youth Tournament Indonesia Group Stage in the Jakarta area was held until Wednesday (2/7) in Cibubur. Meanwhile, the semifinal and final rounds are scheduled at the Kingakakti Field, Tangerang on July 4-5.
“LaLiga Youth Tournament is a proof of LaLiga’s spirit to contribute to early age development in Indonesia,” Andhika Suksmana said.
In the 2024 edition, the tournament’s best player, Farrel Luckyta Widodo, was sent to train to Girona FC in the Football Experience program.
Andhika Suksmana wants LaLiga Youth Tournament to continue to benefit Indonesian football.
“Laliga’s relationship with Indonesia is very close. I hope this can be used by players and coaches to increase their experiences to realize their ideals,” he added.
Unlike the previous LaLiga Youth Tournament edition that used format 7 vs 7 and 9 vs 9 for the U12 and U14 categories, the 2025 edition of the competition now adopted the 11 vs 11 format in each age category.
“LaLiga is a global leader in developing talents in grassroots football. With the Laliga Youth Tournament project, we have exported this competitive spirit to various countries in Southeast Asia,” said Laliga’s delegation in Indonesia, Almudena Gomez.
“Indonesia in particular has many young talents that we want to help develop in the most appropriate way, by offering more opportunities to compete, which is one of the best ways to develop competitive skills.”
“In addition, these tournaments help provide good visibility for Indonesian talents and, of course, allows young players to experience LaLiga’s experience directly and create unforgettable memories,” said Almudena Gomez.
A total of 24 teams from three age groups participated in this year’s Greater Youth Tournament LaLiga Tournament this year. One of the contestants is Persija Soccer School who became the representative of Persija Jakarta in the U12 category and also Shin Tae Yong Academy in the U-12 category. (ma)
