Kemenko Polkam focused the integrated task force in handling thuggery in Indonesia’s latest mass organizations

VIRALTERKINI.ID, JAKARTA – The Coordinating Ministry for Political and Security Affairs held a Technical Coordination Meeting of Integrated Task Force for Handling and Fostering Community Organizations affiliated with thuggery activities. This meeting aims to evaluate the implementation of task force performance and formulate further strategies in handling the practices of thuggery that are disguised through community organizations.

This was conveyed by Inspector General of Police. Asep Jenal Ahmadi, Deputy for Security and Community Security Coordinating Division of the Coordinating Ministry for Politics and Security as Chairman II of the Central Perpadu Task Force when opening the Task Force Coordination Meeting held at the Coordinating Ministry for Polittery, Thursday (4/7/2025).

Asep stressed that the formation of this task force was a direct order from President Prabowo Subianto to maintain national security stability and create a conducive investment climate.

“The president does not want the existence of mass organizations that are a place to protect for thuggery who are troubling the community and business actors.” he said.

In the May -June 2025 performance report, the Task Force recorded the handling of 10,771 cases, with 13,585 suspects successfully secured. Some prominent cases of concern include extortion by unscrupulous mass organizations in Cilegon, illegal land control in South Tangerang, as well as violence against officials in Depok.

“This meeting resulted in a number of important recommendations, such as the acceleration of the formation of regional task force throughout the province, strengthening cross -institutional coordination, as well as strict supervision of mass organizations that have the potential to cause disruption to Kamtibmas and Investment,” said Asep.

Data from the Ministry of Home Affairs until July 2, 2025, the number of provincial levels has been formed as many as 11 regions, as many as 20 at the city level and 52 at the district level.

On this occasion, Asep also stressed that the government was committed to carrying out this operation consistently and measurable. “This is in order to ensure that community organizations carry out positive roles in the community and do not become a means of violence or intimidation with social guise,” he explained.

The meeting was attended by a number of representatives of ministries/institutions, including the National Police, BIN, Ministry of Home Affairs, Communication and Information, TNI, Attorney General’s Office, Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Industry, BSSN, as well as other agencies incorporated in the Integrated Task Force.
