“Eradicating Corruption While Corrupting”: KOSMAK Reports Jampidsus to President Prabowo

Viralterkini.id, Jakarta – The Anti-Corruption Civil Society Coalition (KOSMAK) reported to the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) at the Attorney General’s Office, Febrie Adriansyahto President Prabowo Subianto for alleged abuse of authority in his capacity as Chair of the Forest Area Control Task Force (PKH Task Force).

In a press conference in Jakarta, KOSMAK Coordinator Ronald Loblolly stated that the alleged practice of “eradicating corruption while corrupting” must not be allowed to harm the Prabowo government’s commitment to the fight against corruption.

“We fully support President Prabowo’s steps to uphold legal integrity. However, these efforts will be in vain if law enforcement officers actually commit violations in carrying out their duties,” said Ronald.

KOSMAK highlighted the activities of the PKH Task Force in controlling nickel mining without a lease-to-use forest area permit in Southeast Sulawesi.

According to KOSMAK, PT PKS is listed in Decree on List of Data and Information (Datin) Business Activities Without Permits in Forest Areas of Southeast Sulawesi Province.

The company is known to have an area of ​​218 hectares, incl 18.6 hectares of protected forest And 165 hectares of limited production forest.

Letter from the Director of Forest Area Planning and Use, Ministry of Environment and Forestry Roosi Tjandrakirana dated August 29 2023 confirmed that PT PKS was not worthy of being granted a permit to use forest areas.

The reason is, the AMDAL document used belongs to PT Sultra Mas Bridgeand the 10 percent quota for production forests in the area has been exhausted.

Ironically, Febrie Adriansyah as Jampidsus conducted an investigation into PT PKS in September 2023 for alleged violations of forestry law and corruption worth IDR 3.7 trillion.

However, according to KOSMAK, the investigation “lost direction”.

Coordinator Indonesian Democracy Defense Team (TPDI) Peter Celestinus alleged that there were major irregularities.

“Without IPPKH, PT PKS will still receive RKAB permits for up to 5.5 million metric tons from 2020 to 2023 from the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal. This is a blatant violation. But strangely, the case is not being processed. It is natural for the public to suspect that there is a bribery practice,” said Petrus.

PT PKS is known to have proposed land development through this scheme PP Number 24 of 2021However, KOSMAK considers this step to be invalid.

The reason is, Mining Business License (IUP) PT PKS contains allegations document falsification and was issued after the forest area boundaries (BATB) were established in 1993.

Results of satellite image monitoring at the site GlobalForestWatch.org even shows that it exists new land openings post 2020 in the PT PKS IUP, which still has the status of a protected forest area and limited production.

This activity is strongly suspected of violating Job Creation Law 2020 And Forestry Law Number 41 of 1999.

KOSMAK considers that this case is a serious violation of Presidential Regulation Number 5 of 2025 concerning Forest Area Control which was signed directly by President Prabowo.

The presidential decree emphasizes law enforcement against the use of forest areas without permits, including illegal mining.

“If legal officials play in a gray area, then that is a form of betrayal of the President’s vision,” emphasized Petrus.

KOSMAK also claims to have a number of documents showing that there was engineering in the issuance of PT PKS’ mining permits, including the alleged annexation of mining business permit (WIUP) areas. PT Sultra Mas Bridgewhich has been stated bankrupt by the Makassar Commercial Court in 2014.

Allegations of document forgery also emerged from the letter No. 108/SJM/X/2011 dated 12 October 2011 which was sent in the name of Michael Eduard Rumendongproposed changing the name of PT Sultra Jembatan Mas to PT PKS.

However, PT PKS itself was only founded six years later, namely 2017through a Notarial Deed Rayan Riadi, SH, M.Kn and confirmed Ministry of Law and Human Rights on January 23 2018.

KOSMAK said this irregularity was strong evidence that PT PKS’s mining permit was invalid and was issued with fake documents.

“We will hand over all the evidence to President Prabowo and General (Ret.) Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin as Chairman of the PKH Task Force. We believe the President will act decisively,” said Ronald.

Until this news was published, attorney General’s Office has not yet provided an official response to the report.
