Village Head Pushed to Ditch by Residents Regarding Sleeping Police, Secretary General of DPP NGO Gempur Speaks Up

viralterkini.id, Medan – Muhammad Fadli, who is the Head of the Perintis East Medan Subdistrict, became the spotlight after his viral video resulted in him entering a ditch because he was pushed by a resident.

This incident started when the village head and his staff dismantled the speed bumps from used tires and protruding nails on Jalan Madupuro. This demolition action was carried out based on a resident’s report submitted by the head of neighborhood I. Adi, who was not happy to see Fadli dismantling the speed bumps and ended up getting involved in a fight.

In the video seen on Monday (13/10/2025), Fadli, who was wearing official clothes, was approached by Adi who was protesting the dismantling of speed bumps from used tires. An argument ensued, and we were seen tugging at used tires. Adi, who was not happy with the incident, then pushed Fadli, who finally fell and entered a ditch. As a result of this incident, Fadli experienced swelling in his hand.

Responding to this, M. Ichsan Malik Silalahi, who is the Secretary General of the Gempur NGO DPP, also spoke. According to Ichsan, who we met at the Medan City DPRD office, there have been many complaints from the public regarding speed bumps and local authorities have reviewed them but no action has been taken.

“We have received many complaints from the public and road users regarding speed bumps on roads that are not supposed to be used for personal purposes, ignoring other road users including on Jl. Perkasa, but there has been no firm action from local or sub-district officials. So we are still waiting for follow-up regarding this matter because this refers to the LLAJ law no. 22 of 2009 and the Minister of Transportation’s regulation (Permehub) no. 14 of 2021.” said Ichsan.

Ichsan hopes that the Gempur NGO can become a bridge and a forum for the community to convey complaints which will immediately be forwarded and followed up by local government officials and can establish good cooperation for the sake of the community. (bn)
